2027 Brennen Lacey 3* RB from Frisco, TX (Frisco HS) Commits to LSU

What

I’ve been genuinely curious about how all these families are taking UV being so far away?
There used to be, and still are, cross-country bus tours and such with teams.

It’s a lot of different ways but if you know your kid is getting a scholarship and you’ve been saving for college, that’s one way to find the funds. Other top players may have gotten money to transfer to such and such HS schools and have their parents relocated already at the HS age so that’s a possible way to fund these trips.

With HS NIL and looser rules with more money flowing, id figure schools have ways to help player take UOVs although i doubt they are all doing that or can even afford that.

7on7 teams have sponsors and numerous OOS players so they usually pay for those; and may pay for tickets for unofficial visits as well. A lot of third party agents / boosters / handlers paying for these unofficials.

Brennen Lacey

While he’s not ranked, Lacey has exploded on the trail this offseason and was just on campus for the spring game last weekend.

Say Word Wow GIF by Justin

Well I’ll be damned. Didn’t see any confirmation and thought buddy flaked. Regardless, i hope we wait to take second back and watch senior year film as Lacey hasn’t proven he’s Miami caliber yet imo

Good to see he has interest at least

Lacey made spring visits to LSU, Miami, Oklahoma State, Notre Dame, TCU, and North Texas.

He has since set official visits to Oklahoma State (May 28-30), LSU (June 5-7), Miami (June 12-14), and Notre Dame (June 19-21).

The time in Stillwater moved the needle in a big way for the Frisco (Texas) High School standout.

“I liked how they interacted with their players and how they treat their players as if they were their own,” Lacey said.

The Tigers have stayed steady in this race since extending an offer to Lacey earlier this spring.

“I’ve always liked LSU,” he said. “I love the fan base and the people you are surrounded with over there.”

Lacey’s time in Miami also caught his attention.

“The scenery there was amazing,” Lacey said. “It’s a great coaching staff. Like some of these other schools, they have amazing facilities.”

The Irish produced a pair of first-round selections as Lacey’s position last week and have made a strong impression on the Texas-based prospect early on.

“The people there and the coaching staff” were among the highlights for Lacey. “They produce some high-quality players.”

Additionally, Lacey will camp at Texas on May 31 and work out at Ohio State on June 9.

We need a 2nd RB in this class. Idk if its him. He definitely looks like he needs to add significant strength, don't really believe he's 190lbs. But could be a CWH replacement.

Supposedly 10.91 100m, 22.73 200m, 6'4" HJ, 22'4" LJ... On his HUDL he claims (almost certainly bs) a 4.32 40, a 40" vert, and a 10.87 100m... Seems bs to me.

Not sure what actual 100m to 40 times usually correlate as, I've seen two different versions:
10.73s 100m = 4.50s 40
10.46s 100m = 4.40s 40

vs
9.79s 100m = 4.2s 40
10.27s 100m = 4.3s 40
10.64s 100m = 4.4s 40
10.95s 100m = 4.5s 40
11.21s 100m = 4.6s 40
11.45s 100m = 4.7s 40

But maybe that top one is today vs today and the latter is more HS 100m vs Combine 40? idk....

Idk if you can translate easily to the 40 time because guys have different acceleration levels etc. his 4.32 is not verified anywhere so idk ….. prob hand timed — did it once and never again. Anyone with 4.3 speed would want to show it off.

MJC has a verified 10.3 and tons of sub 10.7 runs. Yet, when he was at the showcase events with the media; he ran a 4.44. He can def clock high 4.3s however it’s extremely rare for a teenager to run 4.3 consistently. Iirc Adoree Jackson couldn’t do it either at that age.

Anyways, he has gotten slower. He didn’t do track this past year so idk where he is at now….he absolutely ran a 10.9 as a freshman however his sophomore times were slower.

Another RB from Mississippi. Something’s in the water. He moved to TX when he started HS. The asterisk just stands for an improvement.

Idk how the jumping translates. People online seem to say there is very little correlation. Football players are usually very explosive however 40 inch vertical doesn’t track with getting slower as he got older.

Yeah so i went back and checked. Adoree Jackson ran a 4.42 at the combine. These are his HS numbers

Highly doubt Lacey has a 40 inch vertical lol.

Adoree eventually ran multiple 10.3s at USC however his 40 yard dash was only .02 lower despite shaving off time on the 100m.

In 2016 outdoor while repeating as an All-American, he had legal bests of 10.38 (career best) in the 100 meters while winning the UCLA Dual (he also had a wind-aided 10.35 while running ninth at the Mt. SAC Relays), 21.08 (career best) in the 200 meters while placing second at the UCLA Dual and 25-8 while winning the Cardinal & Gold Challenge (he also had a wind-aided jump of 25-10.75 in that meet) and while placing fourth at the Mt. SAC Relays. He also had 100 times of 10.41 to run second at the Cardinal & Gold Challenge and 10.44 to place second at the Pac-12 Championship (he went 10.48 in the prelims……In 2016 indoor, he had bests of 6.75 in the 60 meters in a heat at the MPSF Championship

So these things aren’t 1 to 1 translations.

247 had reported an OV for us with him next weekend, but assume that's off the table

Didnt like his tape at all. Not too upset about this. I would be cool with snagging a local late riser or maybe circling back to MJC at the end.
