Not sure how they can let him keep playing -- for no other reason that you have to send a tough message to all players.

I think him going to "treatment" is him and his people trying to get ahead of it. Lets say he was only better on pro sports. Obviously thats not a big deal and he likely is running to seek treatment. If he's that big a of a degenerate gambler, aint no way he's going to draw the line at his own games.

he did bet on his own team. Per Thamel, Sorsby bet on IU football games while redshirting as a true freshman in 2022.

he aint going to real treatment. my guess is hes seeing a therapist for some bull**** sessions while the school figures out what to do with him

If you're actually allowed to keep playing after betting on your own teams games whilst you were in these games, the integrity of the NCAA, that is non-existent in the first place, will completely fall apart. And so will his career, because every bad decision will be connected to that.

he wont be playing again. theyre going to suspend him indefinitely until the NCAA rules on it. they cant risk him appearing in games and being active member of the team. my guess is he makes some kind of public statement that hes sorry and **** remove himself from TTU football to not be a distraction and **** announce for the NFL and prep for that

Interesting question: If you joined TT with the understanding that Sorsby would be your QB, would you be allowed to transfer out of the program?

That is, indeed, a **** of a question that the NCAA needs to answer.

However, I doubt it.

I couldn't play with someone that threw games intentionally.

If he was betting on Cincinnati football games last fall, see ya. But that's a MUCH different headline. "Brendan Sorsby arrested for fixing games, was found to bet on games he competed in" is markedly different than "Brendan Sorsby is entering treatment for a gambling addiction".

But yes, if he was betting on games he participated in, I apologize to those I mocked. He's obviously not playing this fall. But that's not what's been reported thus far, at least what I've seen.

4 years ago. Never bet on a game he played in. No evidence of him influencing the game in any way. Feds aren’t involved. This is a notningburger. The “treatment” is all they need to do. This is a very sick boy, don’t you understand? He needs help!! And, shockingly, that help will come between now and September.

I don’t gamble but I’ve been saying it forever that these gambling sites are the worse thing. I know you can’t lose your money constantly being on your phone/social media but it’s the same thing in terms of the addiction.

What did they think would happen? Also, ESPN and all of these sports in bed with these companies, there is no other outcome possible but this.
