This was actually probably best case for Sorsby imo. Well if you start from assumption he wasn't actually gunna play at least. Because he "won" the injunction, and currently the punishment is 2 games.... I could see the NFL just accepting that, and maybe only giving him the same 2 game suspension or none at all. I think if Sorsby was susepended the entire season and then declared for Supplemental draft, I could have seen the NFL forcing a substantial punishment still.

But If I were Sorsby I still wouldn't drop the lawsuit yet if possible. I'd wait until after the Supplemental draft and after the NFL decides if he will have to receive punishment from them and what it is.... edit: Think actually he has to drop it and actually be ruled inelligible, otherwise you actually aren't even eligible for Supplemental draft in the first place...

He basically was told, make it mutual, we'll save the trouble that way, but you're not playing, whether you want to or not.

Teams usually avoid the supplemental draft. It used to be a bigger thing because of graduation and draft deadlines, but it's not anymore. I can see him go undrafted because of his gambling problem. It's a red line for NFL teams, as stated previously, and for the NFL itself.

Sorsby wasn't a first round pick in the first place. He probably would've been selected in the Carson Beck range. Now, it's basically hoping that one team actually likes you. And considering that the next draft class of QBs looks far more promising, teams with poor records may just miss out overall.

The last player to do anything of significance out of the supplemental draft was Josh Gordon and he was born in the wrong era of NFL play. Otherwise, his weed addiction wouldn't have been a problem.

esp at that position. they dont need a dude who touches the ball for every snap on offense potentially betting unders in those games in his off time.

his career is done imo.
