This is really what it has come down to, basically running to a judge first. If NCAA thought this was the outcome, they may file the first lawsuit, a dec action against Sorsby and seek an injunction to "enforce" its own rules, get that granted then suspend him.

I’m not totally convinced NCAA didn’t want to lose so they could cry to Congress to gain total power back. Kind of “lose the battle win the war” thing. But anti-trust exemption inevitably will end with a players union and collective bargaining. Not the worst thing, but it will never go back to what it was.

Imagine being the poor law clerk who has to go find precedent to fit the judge's whim.
 
I’ve thought all along that this will be the hill to die on for the conference and college football. It’s one of the few issues where there is a large consensus. No idea if it will work but I think after the TTU hostage video by their admin there was no choice. There is no way the sport and fans can be gaslit like that

TTU has played it as stupid as it could.. it reeks. this is not the hill to die on.
 
Didnt the Big 12 move it's headquarters to Texas a couple years ago? Hasnt their title game been there? And dont they have three other members in Texas? Could this backfire on TT and Paxton?
 
TTU for some dumb reason thought they could survive the hate like LSU.... not that LSU isn't worthy of all the hate they get, but TTU is a minnow in comparison to LSU in terms of program clout nationally...
This move could see them dumped in some outer Siberian conference when the next conference shuffle comes.
 
What's to stop TT from snatching another team's starter. As we say there is no transfer portal.
