Brendan Sorsby enters Portal

This is where I’m confused. I thought that was a foregone conclusion, but I’ve seen TT mentioned as a possible hot spot for portal QBs.
If they want someone, I have a hard time seeing anyone spend more than them.

Only name I really heard for TT was Raiola, but that probably had to do with his weird Mahomes cosplay.

Some of the mock drafts have him as high as the 3rd QB taken, may have to sweat this one too...

This January-only portal time might make that problematic. Before we could gamble and wait on a guy ('cause of spring portal)...but that is not an option now.

The timing of when we take a QB is gonna be interesting.

Sorsby entered the portal the day after his HC was fired.

Anyway, this is the one. Make it happen.

I think Texas Tech is happy with Will Hammond, so idk if they will be pursuing.

i assume TTech will be taking a QB no matter what. They've got Hammond, the question is whether he'll be ready after tearing his ACL.

Pockets like that and i wouldnt sit around banking my investments on the hope of a recovery.

I get that there's a lot of excitement but I watched a few of his games this year and had mixed feelings. That Nebraska game was rough to watch.

He ended up beating up on some bad teams in the middle portion of the schedule and then ended the season on a 4 game losing streak after finally playing some good competition. 61% completion percentage is not great. He really needs to work on his accuracy.

With that said, you look at the tool kit previous top transfer QBs like Cam Ward, Bo Nix, Penix, Mendoza possessed...and there's a lot of similarities. Some dual threat capabilities and TONS of experience.

Give him our OL, Malachi, and a few more weapons....and I think we have a preseason Heisman favorite.

They probably will “settle” for Hammond, but if you can upgrade, you do it.
And Tech is all about flexing their $$$$ right now.

Tech is someone to watch. Hope we have already made the call.

I agree but what is our OL for 2026? Losing 3 guaranteed, 4 if Bell doesnt get/take an extra yr.... Okunlola and McCoy back, Cantwell possible day 1 starter...I think they need 2 proven OL starters via portal to keep this top OL trend going. Best case would be what...

LT - Bell
LG - Okunlola/McCoy
C - portal
RG - Okunlola/McCoy
RT - Cantwell?

THIS is the one with CJ Bailey as the fallback option for me, personally. But I do wonder if he’s going to wait for his draft eval to potentially come out, as this is a weak QB class and he may be able to sneak into the back end of day 1.
