If Mel Tucker & his staff coached the Canes and Manny & his staff coached Michigan State, the Canes would have won that game two weeks ago.

Of course they do, but if not those then you are going to take a flyover. For the **** Kirby Smart takes, he is still 57-14, 35-9 and 4-2 in bowl games with a conference championship and 3 conference divisions. My point is many a guy like Brent Venables could be great as a head coach, but you have to want to do it. Just like Bud Foster never wanted a head coaching gig. Venables also may be a failure. There are just maybe 4 or so guys who would be guarantees, and one of them just lap danced his way out of coaching.

Agreed

Getting elite players into a program with a culture like ours is now, won't help much.

Winning is contagious, .....so is losing.

You really can't expect someone who never played the game to understand that.

He actually thinks that just by being here and talking the talk will get it done.

In the past, we outworked our opponents ALL YEAR around. Players knew that it took blood and sweat to win so they prepared extremely hard......the talking an swagger was an EARNED bonus from the hard work and undying effort every player gave each and every day. Players held each other responsible for always going all out

Now we just talk sh*t with NOTHING to back it up....because we have a coach that thinks just putting on the uniform works magic

Exactly; we can go back to Coker days. How many top 5 classes did he bring in? How many 1st round picks did we have? And once the Butch guys left, how many Nat’l Championships to show for it? How many ACC crowns or division titles did all those top 5 classes show for it?

I’ve seen NFL teams w/ 1st round picks after 1st round picks suck, and then a new coach comes in & all of a sudden, all those guys look like 1st round picks (The Cleveland Browns come to mind off the back). If ur locker room & ur culture is f’d up, it doesn’t matter who’s playing.

Exactly. Its a breeding ground for softness. Our players mentality is all wrong. People wanna act like fans are different now, no they are not. Yes social media makes it different bur fans have always been vicous and players with proper mentality thrives in that.
