I know they are probably paying the “suck tax” for a lot of these recruits but product on the field will be telling as well. Even if he commits to USC..it ain’t over. Not by a long shot. Big miss from the time invested, don’t know how big of a miss from a true impact standpoint. Is he expected to be tiers above someone like Buchanan from last year? Or Ervin? Genuine question, I haven’t watched him, but I know Buchanan had similar talk around how much they valued him last year.

I think he's higher on the totem pole than Buchanan, and I believe that he is more physically mature than Buchanan when both coming out of high school. Played better competition as well.
Agree with Geta that not landing him would not be the end all; but still would love for us to land him! Still a miss tho!

Ya that's my feeling too….Kolojay is very good, but gravy. But the problem is I highly doubt we shortchanged any of our top DT offers. Consensus here we were competitive or even highest for many of them. SEC/Clem (And I'm sure OSU if they were involved) is just matching and that's where they are going.

OL recruits trust Mario and Mirabal to develop them into pro players and get them the right draft grade. We have zero evidence we can do that with DTs, quite the opposite actually. Silvera (7th round) and LT (UFA) are just the most recent high rated HS DTs who struggled in the draft. Which is why we NEED Scott to have a great season.
