Larry Scott was an excellent TE coach, and it’s kind of frustrating that Golden had Scott as a fairly obvious guy to promote to the OL coach job for his whole tenure, but kept Kehoe his whole tenure instead. And then Richt also had the chance to promote Scott, who at that point had interim HC experience on his resume. But instead Richt brought in Searles, a guy who he had already been forced to fire at UGA. (Richt offered to let Scott stay as TE coach, but Scott left for Tennessee instead, supposedly out of frustration that he didn’t get the OL job.)
