Brashard Smith catch

My favorite offensive recruit from last year. He runs like a RB after the catch, he's stout enough to take a hit and pile up some YAC, he's brave enough to go over the middle, plus the dude has hands and will attack the football. I hope we really incorporate him in creative ways, as the dude should be used somewhat similarly to Percy Harvin.

Very underrated/overlooked part of his game. He played a lot of wildcat QB and he's small but he has legit natural ball skills. He plays much bigger than his size - can highpoint in tight coverage as well.

Yes you want to get him the ball in space but he can also line up outside and win with his physical traits, routes and ball skills. Those are a rare breed: Steve Smith, Tyreek Hill, Dee Eskridge. As I said in the other thread and multiple times on here:

Brinson - X
Brashard - Z
George - slot
I agree on his skills but you realize restrepo is a carbon copy of all that and more physical as well

It’s not often you see a WR running over tacklers in his high school tape. That type of physical play was really impressive.

I don't see them as overlapping players at all. They can occupy the same position but they bring different things to the table.

Smith - more dynamic with the ball in space, better equipped to win outside
Restrepo - slot-only player, strong and rugged enough to settle in zones over the middle and manage contact, more polished intermediate route runner out of the slot

I think for now you want Restrepo rotating in at slot as the clear WR4 overall. Smith can be a designed gadget player until he's fully up to speed. Next year is when Restrepo should be full-time starting slot (George backup) with Smith competing to start opposite K. Smith.

Easy to rag on the Turds but one thing Mullet has done really well is rotate WR/TE with a variety of skill archetypes. We're on track to have a similar setup.

Said it back when he committed, and I’m sticking to it. My favorite offensive recruit this past cycle. His speed, strength, toughness and ball skills are all upper tier. He will be a problem if he gets meaningful playing time.

Couldn't have said it better myself. I agree all the way.

I was a little late to the B Smith fan club. I had liked Yulkeith's sophomore film better than his , and didn't look at his junior film until early last summer when the local fans started hammering on taking him. Then I compared his Junior HUDL film with that of Yulkeith and Amari Daniels, and realized it was no contest.

Ironic that Jimbo landed both Daniels and Brown. I feel very confident we got the best of the three, hands down. Brashard as a Junior was already separating himself from both those guys. And he's only gotten better, stronger, taller, faster since then. He's a lab creation.
