Barry Alvarez is a big fan. I saw him in an interview a few years back discussing his admiration for Golden. The interview would not be the barrier, if one exists, to Golden heading to Madison.

What about Goldens buyout? Doubt teams would do that for a iffy coach...

The buyout is only appliable if someone fires him so no other team would have to pay it. The question is would Golden give up the 5 years left on his contract and with a guarnateed 8 million? I am assuming WISKY would would pay AG 3 million a year and he would get a small raise. He really wouldn't be putting himself in a better financial situation but if he truely wants to be a big time coach he might want the fresh start.

Chryst is actually a worse coach and recruiter compared to Golden. Let that sink in. Even while Pedo State has been under heavy sanctions, his recruiting has been mediocre at best. If I had to compare them as coaches, I would go
