I dont know if im the only one but Bryce Young to me aint a 1st rd qb.

Now Will Anderson yea.

Bryce Young is gonna be like 5'11-6'0 190-195 ......i dont know i dont think his game translates.
I like Young. Drew Brees redux.

A player is allowed to play for the team he committed to right??....If they enjoy it and want to be there for their team it's their choice to do so...

Tua is considered Brittle and Tua would break that dude in half.lol

there wont be the clean pockets he gets at bama in the nfl....i just dont see it
Have you been watching Bama? Young hasn't been getting clean pockets. If anything, he's made Bama's OL look better than it actually is the last two years. That guy is a wizard moving around back there. Review some bama games. The OL is far from the normal bama OL.

It's because they don't have Mario 😂

1/2 the ***** on this board don’t realize why these kids sit out a meaningless exhibition game when they have millions on the line.

Most of the guys sitting out during bowl season don't have millions on the line. In fact, most of them will be out of football by age 25.

Prop Joe…I thought I was the only one the past two years that thought this…he’ll be hurt (in Houston), by week 8.

99% of everybody that plays falls into that category either way. But I’m sorry you feel that those couple kids owe you to play a garbage bowl

They don’t owe me anything. Weird assumption. But they do owe it to teammates and their school. But yeah, protect that practice squad paycheck.

They played for the school for years or even if it’s just a full year, they don’t owe them anything more. The idea that you let your team down for not playing in a bowl game that isn’t the playoff is hilarious and a lie. It’s an exhibition. You’re doing your coach a favor and giving the young guy behind you a chance to get game reps.

The overwhelming majority of games are meaningless all year long. Why not just play enough games to get some film and then work out on your own, since it’s all about getting paid.

This is interesting. 2 high ranked NFL draft guys.

Coming from Alabama where it's playoffs/natl title or bust.

And they're both playing.

Why?

How does Nick Saban get these kids to want to play in what is basically a meaningless bowl game?

I don't think Saban gets them to do anything. He just recruits kids who are already built like that.

Cool, then don’t ever question why a coach can’t get his players up for a game. It’s all about getting paid. 99% of college games are meaningless.
This conversation has nothing to do with coaches. Getting kids up for games is part of their job.

But you're making the point that it's not possible to get them up for games if the games don't matter, which they don't. Why should a kid care about any game once we have three losses? We won't make the playoffs, so just worry about getting paid. That is literally your argument, and you can't separate the two.

Miami fans: "It's the coach's job to motivate kids to play hard!!"

Also Miami fans: "Why would a kid even bother playing in any meaningless game? He tryna get paid!!!"

By your standard not one manager or coach is responsible for anything. Bc you can claim people love the game or their job, but everything is about money, so the person who’s in charge of them doesn’t matter.

Your conflating my point with something that’s irrelevant to attempt to discredit it.

No, I'm asking why we put motivation on the coaches when we make all the excuses in the world for why kids should avoid any injury risk if it's not a playoff game. It's not something you can separate based on the thread.

Bc it’s part of their job. Same way being self motivated is part of being a player. But at the end of the day it’s up to the coach who gets paid $8 million a year to win games. That includes having his team ready.
