Off-Topic Bourbon Heads

I am huge Jack single barrel and limited edition release fan.

I would go for an Old Forester 100. Can’t beat it for under $30. same owner as Jack in Brown Foreman.

I am big Wild Turkey Fan and can’t beat 101 for under $30.

I picked up a Wheel Horse Barrel Strength(oz Tyler juice) for $32 .

If you like Buffalo Trace, Benchmark Full Proof under $25.

If you spend a little more, Green River is producing great stuff under $50.

Blue Note is tasty as well under $50 for most of their selections.

I think bourbon is getting much easier to find and prices are dropping. Great time to explore and find your favorite.

Good luck hunting!

Thanks! His party was Saturday. Just picked up bottle of Crown.

Wild Turkey 101 remains one of the best value propositions in bourbon, in my humble opinion. It's also a great choice for making old fashions.

Yeah... Wild Turkey 101 is the best value in Bourbon..... probably the best in liquor tbh. It punches waayyyy above it's price point. I've had bourbons that I paid a helluva lot more for, but wasn't nearly as good as WT101. I will always have a bottle in my cabinet

Have you had their Rare Breed? A little more expensive, but if you love WT101, you'd probably love Rare Breed. It has all of the things that seperates WT, with more depth. IMO. Good stuff!

Absolutely! I keep a bottle of rare breed at my bar at all times. It's like a better sipping version of the 101.

Agree on Rare Breed. Fantastic Pour and great daily drinker. In the same price point range, the Russell’s Reserve Single Barrel and Old Forester 1920 are additional options to explore

I'm safe. Haven't been there.

Speaking of castles - I highly recommend visiting Castle & Key Distillery when in KY - IMO it's the most beautiful distillery grounds on the bourbon trail (built by EH Taylor himself back in the day), and they (probably?) don't film you having ***

I was taking my daughter on college tours across Florida for fall break. On our trip, we ran into a YouTube bourbon influencer named Brewzle. He was doing a promotional tour with a distillery , Old Dominick. We were able to get a promo bottle that opened today and was delicious. We had a great conversation on how it’s a golden age for bourbon. We will see a lot of great and less expensive bottles of bourbon over the next few years. He is a big promoter of smaller NDPs and craft distilleries. I encourage everyone to look him up and watch his content. It is entertaining and educational. More importantly, be on the lookout for great bottles to be available for great prices.
