Bottomline- The Run game

You do realize his INT last week was A) off the WR's hands, and B) that WR was hit in the back before the ball got there. Tell me how that INT was on Perry? It was a good pass. I don't want a QB that is too afraid to try to hit those passes. It was a great pass.
That int was not on perry. That was a great throw right on target.

Bad decision, He threw it into double coverage.

His pre & post-snap read should've taken Him from Harley to Hightower...even Richt alluded to it this week.

Great passes don't get picked.
He threw that ball right where it needed to be. The defender got there early.

How is FSU that bad? I mean, I get it, I've watched some of their games this year, they do look like garbage. But they have all the 4 and 5 star talent, how can they be that bad? That's the only thing that has me worried about this game, the idea that all their 4-5 star talent will suddenly start playing like it.

They're not coaching up those 4-5 star kids. And their strength staff is garbage.

One thing that pops out is that their DB's and WR's don't fight for the ball in the air. Pretty much every 50/50 ball that's been thrown up this season, FSU has lost that battle.

Blown assignments all over the place. Their linebackers disappear. Their receivers have stone hands and run sloppy routes. Their ends and LB are undersized and get sealed off too easily against the run.

Cam Akers looks like he's still in high school and like he hasn't touched a weight since he stepped on campus. Their QB is pudgy, fat, and immobile.

Oh, and their entire OL is garbage. Slow, weak, and stupid.

They recruited a bunch of studs, and not only did they not develop them, I think they actually made a lot of them worse football players than they were in high school.

You'll notice it as soon as they step on to the field with us - our guys are bigger, faster, stronger, and much better coached. We'll roll them.

Yup...if the Louisville game's any indication, FSU's gonna bring a lot of heat, especially against a QB with little experience like they played last week.
Their pressure game combined with our, at times, porous OL and super inexperienced QB could be a big problem.

It can be balanced but it doesn’t NEED to be.

Louisville threw 45 times, rushed 38
Samford threw 60 times, rushed 19

Miami can beat FSU anyway Richt wants to. I just want him to do it to the tune of winning by 35 points minimum.
Exactly! People constantly misunderstand the concept of being balanced offensively. They mistakenly believe that balance means if you have 80 snaps on offense the pass/run split or ratio should be 40 rushing attempts and 40 pass attempts or as close to that as possible.

That of course is total nonsense. What you ideally want is an offense that equally capable of doing either or as close as possible. Belichick and the Patriots are a good example. If Bill sees you can't stop the run he's going to keep running until you show you can stop him. Same thing if he sees you can't stop the passing game.

When I have watched the noles this year they seemed to be especially vulnerable to the pass. They are not exactly dominant against the run but I think their big weakness is in the secondary. I would come out throwing as they don't seem to have anyone who can matchup with Cager, Jordan or Hightower for that matter. They don't have anyone in their secondary that can cover Jeff Thomas 1 on 1 and if they double Thomas then Cager, Jordan and Harley will eat them alive. Richt will always try to establish the running game no matter what the opposition does which I find extremely frustrating. Also Richt doesn't seem to understand the concept of throwing in order to set up the running game which is absolutely maddening! I guarantee that Richt comes out running even if fsu is stacking the box daring the redshirt freshman Nkosi Perry beat them. I'm telling you that Richt is going to have the training wheels on Perry in this game because its a big rivalry game and only Perry's second start. That right there drives me out of my mind insane! This is the type of game where we could score 50 but Richt's insistence on over protecting Perry will put a ceiling on our offense. Richts going to lean on the defense and a very conservative offensive game plan built around Homer and Dallas, a good amount of bubble and the occasional deep shot. If I'm wrong I'll be back to eat crow but that's what I'm expecting.

The number one priority for every decent defense in the nation is to stop the run and force the opposing offense to become a one dimensional passing attack.

Foolish coaches are often all too willing to do the defense’s job for them. These type coaches never win meaningful games against decent defenses.

Game will be won on the other side of the ball --- Our DL crushes them WITHOUT having to blitz.....

Dennis Erickson said something on TV before one of Miami's big wins against FSU was that when he and his staff reviewed the rivalry that the team that wins the running game wins the game. I think he pounded Stephen McGuire relentlessly for the win that year. I expect tomorrow will be no different. If we establish a running game, we win. If the Noles establish a running game they win. It is going to be mano against mano in the trenches. I think our guys will win that battle on both sides of the ball for sixty minutes. So I see us winning 21-10 tomorrow.
