Bottomline- The Run game

We will have open receivers all over the field. This game will come down to Perry’s ability to be accurate under pressure and not folding up after taking a few vicious hits.

If our QB can hit receivers and give us some chunk plays we should whip them. If he can’t it’ll be another final possession game.

Perry’s ability to do it in a vile rivalry game against a team full of good fast athletes coming in with a chip on their shoulders is our biggest question mark coming in. Guys will pound the OL **** because that’s what everyone does. But this is a QB game.
If I were Richt I would try to get the ball out of his hands quickly, at least to start the game. We don't need him taking big hits right off the bat.

It can be balanced but it doesn’t NEED to be.

Louisville threw 45 times, rushed 38
Samford threw 60 times, rushed 19

Miami can beat FSU anyway Richt wants to. I just want him to do it to the tune of winning by 35 points minimum.

I'm hoping the margin is at least 35 by the 4th and we get to see Malik in mop-up duty! That would be grand.

Yep. The only play they can defend is run up the gut

I've been saying since they hired Taggart that he would permanently destroy FSU football. Then, when Virginia Tech beat them, and everyone was crowning Va Tech, I posted on here that it isn't VT that's good... it's that FSU is that bad.

But I had no idea they would be THIS BAD.

I've watched their games, and a couple practice vids they have on YouTube. This isn't even a bowl team. North Carolina would smoke these guys. This is one of the most poorly coached football teams I have ever seen.

They look worse than anything Al Golden ever put on the field. Totally serious... if they went and hired Al Golden and Mark D'Onofrio tomorrow, that would be an upgrade.

We are going to absolutely smoke these fools. And deep down, they know it.

Good thought, but they’ll probably be thinking the same way and will be looking to jump anything short.

Perhaps. I really like our TEs against anything they have to try to stop them. I think it's going to be a big win.

Doesn't matter how we beat em just knock the snot out of em.canes win big defense will eat Perry homer Djokovic and the receivers they are all going to feast.fsu beat down on Saturday they deserve one.make up for that 7 year streak.

Run the football...
...Win games.

Football is not rocket science...you need not over complicate it. Just line up, helmet on helmet and run the ******* football when all else fails. Championship teams can do it. Not championship teams can not. Simple.

It's very doubtful we run the ball all game vs FSU. They will sell out to stop our run and make Perry in his 2nd start beat them. He's gonna have to do that, but if he can there will be lots of plays to be had.

Good! Because, Perry does not lock on to his lead receiver from the snap! That's who they were playing against last season. We actually have a guy who can see the field and check down multiple receivers! Look at the matchups! Do you think VT and Syracuse have a Jeff Thomas and Harley type?

Yup...if the Louisville game's any indication, FSU's gonna bring a lot of heat, especially against a QB with little experience like they played last week.

To me, "balance" doesn't necessarily mean running the same number of run plays as pass plays. I think we need to be balanced WITHIN the run game - balancing inside/outside zone as well as judicious use of RPO and keepers. I'd like to see us run the ball 30ish times, with 'Kosi keping it maybe 5 of those times - just enough to keep the D off-balance.

Maybe it is just me but watching Perry run makes me think he should let the RBs run and play his strength, the pass. I do not see some sort of great running QB. He doesn't have lead feet like Brad but Rosier a much better runner. We have the talent for a classic Cane offense now that we have good pocket passer, lets use it.

This isn't playstation dude, FSU still has a decent defense. We just need to win the ******* game.
Actually FSU's O is far more worrisome then there D IMO . frenchie has a few really good WR and some talent at RB. Their OL is hot garbage so they are very streaky but FSU's D is just nothing to be concerned about especially the secondary. I don't mean to say their O is anything to worry about really but of the 2 FSU has a much better chance of scoring 35 then holding us to 10 if that makes sense.

If Perry can’t stop throwing INT’s or fumbling then we win. Their rushing D isn’t bad but their passing Defense is mierda.

You do realize his INT last week was A) off the WR's hands, and B) that WR was hit in the back before the ball got there. Tell me how that INT was on Perry? It was a good pass. I don't want a QB that is too afraid to try to hit those passes. It was a great pass.

How is FSU that bad? I mean, I get it, I've watched some of their games this year, they do look like garbage. But they have all the 4 and 5 star talent, how can they be that bad? That's the only thing that has me worried about this game, the idea that all their 4-5 star talent will suddenly start playing like it.

Their LB and safeties are liabilities. I'd like to feature Brevin and Mallory, as well as the RBs in the passing game early.

Don't care if its dink and dunk to start. Attack their weakest points with methodical drives leading to points. They will be hyped for this game and we need to take their will to play early.

It will open the run game and the ability to hit them over the top for big plays later.

Plus, a rested DL against their OL playing from behind would be entertaining to watch to say the least.

I want us to dominate on all facets but you can not deny the gaping hole in the middle of the field that should be our point of attack mixed that in with breaking their will with our running attack then it’s lights out for FSU.

It was forced but I agree it wasn’t his fault. What about the other 2? Clearly his fault and poor decisions. Some others that could have been picked too that weren’t. He’s a Freshman so I get it. Like I said, stop turning the ball over and we win.

I’d like to see Kosi take the RPO pass option route on most RPO plays. The WR in the flat is always open for at least 5 yards if not 20 with one missed tackle. Easy pitch and catch for Kosi.
I had a dream last night of Perry running a speed option pitch to Robert Burns for a long TD to seal the game.

Bad decision, He threw it into double coverage.

His pre & post-snap read should've taken Him from Harley to Hightower...even Richt alluded to it this week.

Great passes don't get picked.

if our OL doesnt start their usual slow start BS, we jump out quick and don't look back.... only thing worries me is our OL starting slow and giving FSU hope in a rivalry game...
