....at picking who they want for HC.

The majority of the fanbase jerked off for Richt.

The majority of the fanbase jerked off for Diaz’s twitter game, jewelry, and fake swag.

The majority of the fanbase decided Al Golden was legit bc he said “are you kidding me”.

You got people who get hard bc Mike Leach was mean to a reporter despite getting his *** kicked in a big game AGAIN with his unranked team.

You got half the fanbase still holding on to the idea of Butch Davis who is about 15 years past his prime.

This fanbase was in love with Cholly Strong and Lame *****in. They declared us “stealing” James Coley and Dan Enos was a huge victory.

If we ever got lucky enough to get a new, competent AD, he should compile a list of the top ten favorite fan suggestions for coach and instantly eliminate them as choices.

You know what I hope for? That the AD says he consulted with the top minds at CIS on hiring the next coach.
 
BOT could care less about athletics. A few of them care and the remainder focus on transforming the U into the next Emory or BC........
 
Lot of fans questioned every hire since Butch left. Most hoped the new coach would do well. Never looked like majority of fans approved of the hires when made. Huge difference in approval of the hire when made and hopeing they do well

You were doing alright, right up till you mentioned Butch.

There I recalled - why I changed my mind - from being Pro-life.

Lot of fans questioned hiring a coach that could not win the big games when it counted. Also questioned his 1950s offense when he was hired.
 
@TheOldU2002 - I think you're mistaking hope for substance. Most fans tried to warm up to our coaching hires by trying to believe they're the right hire.

This board would have never:

1) Extended Coker.
2) Hired Randy
3). Extended al golden.
4) Hired Manny without an extensive head coaching search.


So I think this board's fictitious results would have been better than the UM board of Distrustees' results.

Seriously.

No one was thrilled for Shannon or Golden; the 2007 "search" coming up with no one (as even Schiano turned down the gig) and when it was Fat Albert, he was in the running against the likes of Randy Edsall and Marc Trestman—two more snoozer.

Some wanted Butch back when Richt was hired—and even those pro-Richt were aware of his underachieving at Georgia and were well aware he was at the tail end of his career; almost retiring for good before landing at Miami.

At best, people have tried to feign excitement over the last four hires—well aware how sub-par this Miami program has been for 15 seasons.

If any were "excited" about any of these guys, they were completely in the minority. Literally every one of these hires was met with a "we'll see" and "hoping for the best" type reactions.

Butch hasnt coached a good team in over a decade. He’s not the only coach that has ever had success, and hes another classic case of fans only wanting people they know or who have miami ties. Enough already. The time to bring him back was after Coker was fired. I mean if we are going to bring an old past his prime coach why not Jimmy or Dennis? **** Howard is still alive why not him? All three won more here.
