When was that? Don’t remember having that in ‘97-99.

Sub connection was there 1985- through 1989- how long thereafter I don’t know but it sounds like it didn’t make it much into the 90’s…. You’d have known about it
$3.99 subs- not bad but we would eat anything….

Also, anyone else have the pleasure of explosive diarrhea in the dining hall from spaghetti night? I remember running for Mahoney before I was even done …
I took to the salad bar a lot after that

Yeah definitely don’t think we had that.

Was the dining hall run by a company called Daka or something? There was some big outbreak that gave us all food poisoning once. Not that they great the rest of the time…

Here were the mainstays:

---D'Pizza of UM - across US 1, next to the Burger King and Book Horizons, sold pizza AND all kinds of pasta (the manicotti was THE BOMB)
---The Great Su' Connection (since they never pronounced the "b") - same side of US 1, just north of the fire station, where Taco Rico is now
---Herbie's - Herbie was a real piece of ****, but he was open late and located down on Miller just past the 7-11
---Miami's Be(a)st Pizza - the OG version (actually, it was "Little Caesar's" until my junior year) was across US 1 where Five Guys is now, closer to Red

Those were the ones. Sure, there were others, but the delivery guys for these four joints were ALWAYS in the lobbies of the residential colleges...

*94th aero squadron

Holligans
*Regines
*woodys so beach
*tavern in the grove

And the granddaddy of them all:

Tobacco Road

We got a LOT of Papa Juan’s and Chop Chop from Chicken Kitchen.

Three legendary spots. Saw the best bar fight in my LIFE while at The Tavern after the 1992 Miami-F$U game (and, yes, the Miami fan beat the **** out of the F$U fan). I had blood on my jeans just from being a spectator.

Also can't forget Sid's Piano Bar, which is now the location of a Papa John's at Bird & Ludlam.

And The Hungry Sailor (now Sandbar).

Oh, and Fat Tuesday's and Baja Beach Club in Cocowalk.

And Club Manhattan's off of Red and US 1, behind the KFC.

I definitely remember Tavern and Tobacco Road!

I also remember Murphy’s, because before I had a fake ID I used to show my actual ID, with my age of only 17 for my entire freshman year, to the bouncer and he always let me in. 🤣

Those were the days. We probably all have emphysema from Tavern.

Yes manhattans I remember - then there was a bar all the players went to, charcoals- in Kendall
I think were prob different eras most of those you listed I don’t recall

I remeber a sub shop accross from the 7-11 on Miller and 67th-ish about a block before South Miami High School. They had a menu of at least 50 items which the printed in tiny font which required a magnifying glass. I don't remember the name was that herbies?

Yeah, that was Herbie's. Herbie had a little piece of **** kit-car that was a replica of an old-time roadster.

When I worked and wrote for the school newspaper, I sold him some ads, he stiffed me on payment because the coupon had no expiration date (he never requested one). I tried to explain that we collected all the newspapers twice a week and recycled them, but he was acting like people were going to keep those coupons forever and just WAIT to cash them in 20 years down the road.
