Bob Stitt...Worth the time to read

The more I think about it the less I like him as a hire but he is a fun guy to watch.

Imagine if he got the gig at, like, Wake Forest or Syracuse.

Golden would have his ******* base defense out there and be absolutely befuddled at how we couldn't seem to get off the field on "money downs" as we proceeded to lose by 20.

The only concern I have with Stitt is the complete lack of running game.

He runs the football, too.

3.3 ypc is pretty anemic.

Montana - Cumulative Season Statistics

He doesn't have the players he needs to run his system completely. But he does like to put points on the board and in a hurry using a balanced attack. But the most important thing is he loves a good defense which most spread geniuses over look. Stitt wants an aggressive fast defense that can get him the ball back.

He is a helluva recruiter also, but would definitely need strong bridges to the south Florida community so he would need to keep a lot of the current staff. Also bringing in a someone like Ken Dorsey as OC that can use his NFL coaching experience to secure QB recruits and then coach them fundamentally while using Stitts air raid type offense would be an ideal situation.

He wants to prove his system can win on the big stage, so coming to Miami would a no brainer!

The Administration would love him because he is big on graduating his players and he has coached at Harvard so that will help with snobbery among Miami's donor base and power brokers. He is also very good with the Media.

When was the last time Miami's offense had a WR running wide open because of the scheme and just the player getting open. I am the first to say I am not a fan of running the QB, so that aspect of a spread offense bothers me but other than that component Stitt's offensive players are extremely creative.

**** Bob Stitt's Univ of Montana grizzly's are down to their 4th string QB, the other 3 are all injuried.

Stitt's wide open offensive philosophy would be ideal here at Miami, minus his running the QB.

We are tying to get rid of one coach determined to PROVE HIS system. That is Al's biggest frigging problem. I want a coach who want to WIN period and finds ways to win with the players he has and can get. JJ came down here to win. To use our speed to bet OU and NE, who he could never beat at OSU. He dumped his Wishbone, adopted the pro set that was already working here. Took Miami speed on defense and played a defense that could and did destroy the dominate offense of the time -- the option.

@Gatorhator , Bob Stitt's system is predicated on speed he wants to be the fastest team and run more plays than any other school at any division. An FYI most OC's worth their salt go an spend time with him in the off season to pick his brain.

I don't think Oky St. ran the wishbone. They managed to average over 20 passes per game over the 5 years JJ was there.
