And Nix, both this year and last year, has a horrible average depth of throw. Essentially, Oregon limits how much he is allowed to put the ball in the air.
And every scouting report on him talks about how he is a single read QB, and that hasn’t improved this year.
So a QB can’t can’t go through progressions, locks onto targets, and is only trusted to Dink and Dunk, is a Heisman candidate.
Why? Spacing. Oregon spreads you out and does a good job of making where to go with the ball easy for Nix. So he can get the ball out quickly to playmakers and let them do their thing with a lot of grass to work with.
It’s everything we don’t do.
