Bluechip ratio is on our side

Need to win early downs and shut down the run. They will run tempo and that will help slow down the DL. Offense needs to play another great game

I just don't get you folks. We have an advantage here and historically this has basically meant everything. I used to downplay this, but after 25 years of it basically determining the champ, it can't be ignored.

Gotta play the game, but this is a factor.
How much of a factor though? If it was a significant one then explain how much it mattered for…

IU vs Oregon earlier this year
IU vs Ohio St
IU vs Bama… which was a blowout
Miami vs ND
Miami vs A&M
Miami vs Ohio St
Ole Miss vs UGA

Do you think the bluechip ratio rule means there haven't been upsets during a season for 25 years? That's not what we talking about.

This is about the ultimate champion. The only 2 teams remaining with a high bluechip ratio over 50 is Miami and Oregon. If neither of those teams wins, then the rule has been defeated.

The portal has somewhat leveled the blue chip ratio metric. Portal guys are usually older and more experienced. Indiana, Ole Miss have very experienced team of portal guys, and even our Canes best portal players, like Carson Beck (23 years old), Keonte Scott (24 years old) and Akheem Mesidor (23 years old) are 5-6 year players, who collected NIL and stayed longer in order to mature and play at a high level .

So, the extra time and experience in college has been a difference maker for elite programs this season

Let's keep it going.

Miami meets the blue chip ratio threshold, so those are bad examples.

As for Indiana, a heisman trophy winning quarterback is a good exception.

I do agree that the metric needs to be tweaked based on age and experience. I'd rather have a sixth year 3 star than a freshman 4 star, for example ...

We've had this argument for 30 years on the interwebz. You need to recruit at a high level. But you also need to recruit the right pieces. Chambliss is Ole Miss' equivalent of Cam Ward. Blue chip ratios go out the window when a black swan comes along.

Lane was my 2nd choice (Mario was #1) for HC after Diaz for a reason. He's a coke-snorting, skirt chasing narcissist. But the man finds and develops talent as capably as anyone.

I would rather have faced Georgia. UGA is a really good team. But we are better than them at every facet of the game IMO. Ole Miss is much more unpredictable, built much more like UL and SMU.

The point is this time of that measure is less meaningful if much of one at all. Even with early in the year examples.

The top 3 teams from a talent standpoint were the same teams to have HCs who’ve coached in a Natty game are out.

Talent usually wins out.

How many NFL players are on each team left?

Miami is loaded with talent, so I don't understand your point. This is an advantage, like it or not.

Ole Miss appears to have more college football experience on offense than any of our opponents this season. As the same time, defensively they have less experience than any of the teams that we've played except for Florida and Ohio State.
