No , you only say that because you’re a Miami fan , jaelen Phillips medically retired from UCLA and was the number 1 prospect in the whole nation
Maybe so. But this is our 3rd kid in 4 years to medically retire. I follow **** pretty close but you right, im a canes fan above all. That’s why I said it’s worth the question.

Apples and Oranges. Phillips had different issues after the accident.

Miami must lead the nation with these announcements and head/neck injuries. Truly bizarre.

All the best to this young man.

Since the question was raised about how many players have medically retired from the U, it seems Blisset has been dealing with this issue for some time - even before he arrived on campus. Not to excuse or lessen his issue in any way, but we shouldn’t jump to conclusions or speculate without having all the facts.

Blissett medically retiring is barely going to move the needle nationally. We only know about it because we follow the team. How many do we not know about because we don’t follow other teams.

With better medical care and more awareness, it's not a surprise we're seeing more medical retirements. I don't follow other teams enough to know if it's exclusive to us though, but I doubt it.

Bro, we’ve had 3 neck retirements since 2016. I can’t recall ever having a medical retirement prior to!!

I’m not sure Blissett’s retirement has anything to do w/ us, v. years of accumulated wear & tear, which he mentioned the multiple concussions suffered via high school. Regardless, that’s 4 in 5 yrs.

I’m going to assume no other school has been this prolific w/ medical retirements. I follow all of CFB, and the only other medical retirement, from the football field, I can remotely recall was the RB from Oregon, Tyner...and buddy came back the following yr to become a Beaver. 🤷🏾‍♂️ ****, even w/ Phillips getting injured off field to cause him to medically retire, he came back.

Dude, our boys careers be like seriously done.....and w/ 4 in 5 yrs??? That’s wild. Like on some wtf type wild chit.

One thing to note is awareness and diagnostics are much better today. There are plenty of kids in the past who may have played on. You don’t always know the risks you tale.
