Blissett done with football???

Covid related in all likelihood,he's developed a murmur. Thing kids are seeing pop up more and more now is the same thing the kid from if did where he had covid 5-6 months prior than scar tissue builds up and tears the heart and clogs ventricle. ****ed up world we live in when our own ****** *** government tries to kill off its citizens

Yes. And this is what I was alluding to earlier.

SOME (not all) of these retirements are due to LIFELONG issues that a player has, but which have gone undiagnosed for 20 years.

It may not be an INJURY that causes these kids to retire, it is often a product of high-end medical attention and diagnosis that spots something which, for the average person, is not career-threatening, but which for a football player IS career-threatening.
IIRC, there was a young TE on one of Butch’s teams, Chris C. Jones. Good player, developing. He was suffering from a stinger that would not seem to fully heal up. The medical team discovered a congenital neck issue, narrowing of his cervical spine, causing the nerve issue. He was literally pulled him off the practice field and told he was done with football. The wrong hit could have killed him, let alone cripple him.

These cases are very rare when dealing with COVID.

You can’t stop the world from spinning because a small% of the population may have an adverse reaction to a disease.

My heart goes out to the young man, but his condition could’ve also been triggered by pneumonia or a severe flu.

U guys always poke at him. Not necessary bruh. We all got our ways. He's good people and just gets easily aggregated. I hate to say it but anyone who has experienced our success first hand for multiple years this all makes these years very difficult to endure.

I'm not poking at anyone, I'm just mocking the common tendency for people (lots of people) to minimize these types of issues because they really only know what happens at UM.

Yep. I remember the days of Chris T. Jones and Chris C. Jones. Loved those guys, tutored some of them.

The reality is very simple. LOTS of guys have medically retired, but we only seem to remember the ones who had a big high-profile injury. And even then, if the kid TRIES to come back from the injury, it somehow "doesn't count" as a medical retirement when he realizes that he can't play the game any longer.

Also, people need to go back and find out what happened to George Karlaftis (Sr.) when he played football at UM. Literally, he almost died from his injury. Never played football again (he was also on the Track team at UM).

Why do people like you have to try to politicize this as if Covid has no impact?

Nobody is trying to "stop the world from spinning". And, no, he didn't have pneumonia or a "severe flu". He had Covid.

So stop speculating and minimizing and politicizing.

True.

And, there needs to be someone at fault. Especially on this board, for many fans of this program. No player is simply injured, or has a pre-existing yet unknown problem. There has to be a coach, doctor, or the S&C program to blame.

I wasn't even gonna bother responding to his comment cause I saw where it was going. Personally I've had roughly 30 people I knew we'll have had covid and died from it. 6 of them had the exact thing I described happen to them and that was their cause of death. The last one that y'all might be aware of would be Los. Carlos Joseph. God bless the dead. So for people like buddy please stop trying to minimize what this covid **** is just so political bias can be justified.

Jesus man. That is more than anyone should have to ensure for a **** of a lot longer than one year. Peace and prayers to you and their loved ones.

**** that was tough. 🙏 for him and I have no doubt he will succeed. Sounds like he actually got his head on straight and will do whatever he can to make it happen.

Carlos Joseph died from a brain aneurysm, and reportedly didn’t even have Covid.

I haven’t seen a single report that he had Covid.

Brother, I know you are emotional, but let’s get things right.

Dsddcane... I usually agree with your posts, but why wouldn’t he say that his concussions and head injuries were magnified by him getting Covid? Were u speaking as if u heard that from him or his family? Just curious.

Also what did u mean about government killing off its own people?

I think we all can agree it’s a sad situation for him ... and his vids definitely had me teary eyed. He seems like a great kid and with some good supportive family and friends, he’ll have a great life! Hope he gets that U degree and does big things!

Dude I'm perfectly aware what los actually died from. I'm also aware as he is one of my best friends till the day I die what actually caused it. Los had covid back in April & not that I gotta explain **** to you or anyone else that covid caused him to develop a murmur. As a result of the murmur his heart went into AFib. As a result of the afib he developed a good clot which went into his brain and he had a stroke. I'm not gonna get into the rest of the story as it ain't none of you or the rest of these dudes business. But the bigger issue is people, myself included choosing to entertain y'all on here like you know **** other than the lies the media or people in general feed to y'all sheep. I don't need to lie about a **** thing and I ain't gonna have some dude on here question me about what happened to my people. That's from the doctors mouth. Ill take that over your expert opinions.

You see I said in all likelihood right. All I'm gonna say is I heard that from staff and the reason I said that is in my opinion( which ain't **** from a medical standpoint) is because I've seen how covid causes people's conditions to heighten over time and drastically after a roughly six month period. That is formed not only from seeing that happen with my own eyes but also because over the years I have developed some very strong relationship's with some very well renowned medical minds. Is what it is though.

Hats off to that young man. We sure have some high character guys on this team. His football career might be over but sky is the limit for that young man in any career he chooses. I pray the best for him. God bless.

We just lost a family friend to it...make it so bad is that she contracted Covid from a co-worker who the company knowingly allowed to return to work with Covid SMH. Hope her loved ones sue the ******* out the company.

I don’t know anything about his medical history, only what was written in the newspapers. Usually, that kind of stuff is mentioned in newspapers and in the media. There’s no shortage of it nowadays. But if you say that’s what happened I’ll take your word for it I guess. I’m just surprised that this is mentioned nowhere else for someone that is prominent.

But why are you discussing a friends medical history on a public message board? Is it that important to you that you reveal private personal medical details about one of your friends. Did you get permission to discuss his medical history?

There’s something wrong with you.

Gotcha... knew u had connections so thought maybe u heard something. But yeah, some people don’t even know they got it or had it. For others, it might not be too bad... but then things start happening/worsening down the line months later (like what u experienced from some u know it sounds). And then for the very unfortunate and susceptible... things don’t end well.

Personally I don’t know a lot of people that had it and don’t know anyone that’s had it bad. My parents had it back in October. My dad is in 70s and was asymptotic. My mom is mid 60s and she had a bad cough for a few days (although she’s had more health issues than my father). So I can’t speak from experience... but I know it’s not something to take lightly.

Going back to Blissett though. Don’t know if u ever met him but seems from what he is saying that he has some social issues/anxieties. and I’m not a psychologist but him posting that seemed to take a lot of courage and think it’s a positive step in his life. I know that something that occupied most of your life, ending all the sudden is a lot to deal with... hope the U fan rallies around him!
