2026 Blake Stewart 4* Safety from ATL (Woodward Academy) Flips to UGA From Clemson

Example 1029293 of why I don't like chasing kids from Georgia, Alabama, Louisiana and Texas. When the in-state schools come knocking and they've been winning. It ends this way 99% of the time.

Grab the best kids who have upside and stats from states that don't have football powers.

JJ Dunnigan - Kansas. Horrible football programs.
Logan Nagle - New Jersey. Horrible football programs.
Gavin Mueller - Illinois. Horrible football programs.
Isaac Chukwurak - Delaware. Not sure they even have a football program.
Keshawn Stancil - North Carolina. Average Football Program. That really sucks right now.

It's not hard to see the trend @gogeta4 and I know you've been following recruiting long enough you could teach it in school lol

The other flips..

DeAnthony Lafayette - Florida. LSU fired their coach. Makes sense he'd look in-state for stability.
Milan Parris - Ohio. OSU never offered. If they did... kids already scheduled to visit Auburn?! lol

Doesn’t mean these kids will be *** cause they from no where. Always take intangibles and body types and speed. I want difference makers not HS difference makers college difference makers. It’s not their fault the comp is ***, they could be jags as well we will see. I’m pretty sure great football players came from a HS where they played nobody

This is how big boy recruiting works can’t just concede big time recruits with interest cause you’re scared of the local school. Of course you’re not gonna sign em all or many of the elite ones but you ever know. Can’t score if you don’t shoot the ball..

from Dawgs ON3

He is officially visiting UGA this weekend but they don’t he is a layup because he was seen wearing Miami gloves at his HS practice this week. gloves really have become the new slides.

Also mentioned that he and others said that meeting Ed Reed was the “highlight” for them last weekend. Reed was at the game because his son is in the class of 28 and was invited as a recruit.

Parris is visiting auburn?
His 247 page says that; was scheduled prior to the commitment; who knows if he will even take the Alabama-AU visit.

A visit was made to Oklahoma on Oct. 4, and he decommitted from Iowa State three days later. Visits were also made to Oregon and Miami, and one was set up for Auburn for Nov. 29.

Alas, the Tigers likely won’t be getting to host Parris for a visit that weekend any longer. That is because he has announced his commitment to the Hurricanes.

I understand what you're saying and there's (some) truth behind it. However, don't you still have to at least TRY with the guys you think are the top dogs (pun sort of intended)?

And what about the 2 players we are bringing in this recruiting cycle from Georgia, both of whom UGA wanted, and one who flipped from UGA?
What about the QB we have from Georgia, who UGA was late to recruit and would not flip to them after winning 2 straight state championships in Georgia?

Come on now. This is not only a defeatist attitude, but it is factually incorrect as least as it concerns the State of Georgia.

Let's not let facts get in the way of a good story.

Imagine if Alabama/UGA/OSU had this weak mindset back in the early/Mid 2000’s when it came to the state of Florida…
During the bags era? Apples to Oranges and let's not forget that when they started taking the elite kids we were a horrible football program.

To everyone else thats commented -- They way I wrote my statements may have been a bit too extreme. Im not saying don't recruit Georgia. I'm saying that the likely hood of beating those in-state schools is lower and for that reason I like that Mario isn't relying on recruiting the states that are known for having the best in-state talent yearly. Those states also have the best programs.

To @Dwinstitles point, find the kids in smaller states that have the traits and don't fault them for the level or competition they play against. The success rate of flipping those kids imo is higher because the competition to get them isn't local.

Even in the bags era, a lot of the top players in metro Atlanta were leaving the state instead of heading 45 mins down the highway to play at UGA.

Lmao

A lot of “drama” here, (I say that sarcastically b/c I don’t think a kid struggling to make biggest decision of his life = drama) but still would take the kid. As we see consistently, depth matters, especially in the defensive backfield where so many guys play at a time. He is a player and would help us.
