Is Clark Lea even at Vandy next year?
Clark Lea is the rare Vandy fan from birth. He and Barton Simmons (Vandy GM) are childhood friends who grew up rooting for Vandy together. Clark Lea ultimately ended up playing for Vandy.

He is dyed in the wool Vandy. He will get a big raise and an extension to keep him there.

A school would most likely have to offer him more than double to leave, and that would be extremely short sighted on that school’s part.

I really like Clark Lea and think he’s probably a good coach. But he went 6-6 last year and loses all of the New Mexico State transfers he brought in at the end of this season. Tim Beck is running a very specific offense that Diego Pavia is uniquely suited for. He’s definitely changed the defensive identity to be sustainable, but I’m not sure if the offensive one is yet.

A big program would make a massive mistake overpaying for Lea at this point, IMO.

Gaby made it seem like Broughton won’t commit until after his Houston visit

Wonder if the Hayes tweet was for Stewart

now it all makes sense why a random vanderbilt recruit would seem highly rated and end up in those all star games for seniors

I gotta see Lea without Pavia in order to believe in him. He’s done some good things and credit where it’s due. I think they’ve done well in roster construction. Cut fat in the right places, brought in good portal talent. Now they are trying to cash in at the HS level. If they can convince Curtis to flip, it could keep things moving forward for them.

Vandy has big NIL dollars and money coming in via SEC rev share. Just renovated their stadium/facilities and are now top 10-ish overall academically.

Just like with Indiana, I don’t see them going anywhere for a while. Also, Lea is alumni so unless a school like ND opened up and came after him, he’s isn’t leaving.

so you think Vandy can maintain top25 status in football for next1-3 years??/without their 26year old QB?? IDK... I think this is catching lightning in a bottle for them...

The thing is... Pavia sucks. So when they go to the portal and pull a QB that can actually throw, I agree.. they'll be better/can be better.

I'm holding out on further comment about their future until I see them go in and actually pull one and compete with the cream of the crop for a good QB. No one wanted Pavia except for them.
