Blake James playing his part

I assume Richt saw something or knew something about Diaz that maybe isn't as obvious as we might think.

I say we trot him out, let him run, and see how this goes.

Anyone - anyone - is a major step up from D'Onofrio.

Sometimes a coach just has to match up with a team, and vice versa. We've all seen it.

I'm not too worried about Diaz. If we're playing off the chain, we'll win a lot of games.

Aint trying to put excuses for diaz but texas hasnt been getting the best talent for a long time.....i dont care about there ratings i go by what my eyes see. I think if we get the best players in sfla diaz will look good

One of your best posts ever.

So we need the best players for Diaz to look good?

I agree with this - but - not only were Texas players highly rated coming out of HS, 9 of the defensive players on the roster in 2012 played in the NFL this year. So, even if they were over-rated coming out of HS, they were still good enough to make the league.

From what I read, the DB coach at Texas refused to have his DB's play within the scheme Diaz wanted, and Brown wouldn't make him, so that played a part. His defense has never looked that bad before or since, so there was something going on there. I don't think the talent was up to the usual standard, but it wasn't that bad.

Some years they didn't have kids drafted since then. It's well below Texas usual talent level. In this case a lot of the guys that they had that was rated highly out of highschool where overrated

Only took us 3 terrible head coaching hires, 10 plus years of mediocrity, several athletic directors, and new president.

Better late then never.

Thank god we finically have the ducks in a row.

It was only one horrible politically driven university president. She got exactly what she wanted. Like any politician, you look to their results not their words to figure out want they really wanted.

Were they so bad that BYU should have rushed for 600 yards on them? 9 NFL guys, and this dude was getting gutted by Mormons and clowns so badly that he got greased 4 games into the season.

Akina was the DB coach when Texas did pretty well Diaz's first year. What changed to make him abruptly Roddy Piper heel turn on Diaz? Doesn't make much sense that he'd roll with things the first year then tank it after that and that no one would say anything about him sabotaging the season and everyone else's livelihoods.
