When asked how the criticism from the fans weighs into his decision, he responded:

“I won’t say that I read every email to the full extent, but I read every email and I’ll skim over parts of them, but I open up every email that I get and I listen to every voicemail that I get. Realistically you can’t respond to every single one and I know that’s a disappointment for some because they’ll send another email back to me looking for a response on something and given all of the demands of the job, I would probably sit there and just respond to email and voicemail all day if I tried to respond to everyone.

“It’s good for me to have a forum like this just to let you know that yes I hear all of them. I read through all of them. At the end of day we have a very passionate group. I’ve said all along, while we might not have the size of the schools we’re compared to in terms of numbers and our fan base, I put our energy and passion up against anyone. That’s why dating back to the Orange Bowl or even as a recent as this year like the Florida State game, when you get our fan base going in an energetic environment, there isn’t any better group or more passionate group out there.

“So when you don’t have success, they’re obviously going to be upset and they’re going to voice that frustration and I get that. The thing I’d say is no one wants to see us win any more than I do and Al and I know that. We have to get better. They want us to get better. They’re not happy with 6-6, I’m not happy with 6-6. With that said everybody’s got different ideas as to how you fix it. I’m leaving it up to Al because I believe he will get it fixed and that’s the person I’ll work with and continue to get it better. That doesn’t change.

“People are going to be upset anytime you lose. You see that when you’re losing one or two games a year, there’re a lot of criticism. So when you lose six of them, it’s six times as much criticism that comes and that’s part of the world we live in and the game we play. It’s good to have that and if you didn’t have that, that would be a bigger concern because that means something is missing, a passion in your fan base, and I know that ours is there and ours has very high expectations and I would say that I have those same high expectations. I promise everyone that I’m going to continue to do whatever I can on my side to help get us back to the top.”

that guy should run for ***ing president

I'm soooo tempted to root for a program that actually gives a flying *** about football now, this attitude, this administration, that BOT, that liberal swine of a president

they'll never allow this team to be back.. why bother

Why does he feel that Randy's record was fireable but Al's isn't?

Fake James is an *******.

He is inviting us to crank it up. Maybe we shouldn't be convinced that Blake is sold on Al and this is a decision from Donna that leaves him powerless until the new president comes in. He could very well use our emails and outrage as an argument to fire him next year even if Golden shows improvement.

Hey *****t,

Blake is telling us what to do. He states it loud and clear in the last paragragh:

“People are going to be upset anytime you lose. You see that when you’re losing one or two games a year, there’re a lot of criticism. There you have it. He's daring us! If we back off and focus our attention elsewhere and let them feel the apathy that will let them know there need to be change. Losing recruits doesn't seem to matter much, but losing support for the program....that's another story.

He's daring us.

I'd like to see season ticket numbers for this year compared to next yr's. A severe downwards trend and they may be able to get the point.

Dude's got to be trolling, right? So you have an employee whose results are ****** and have been ****** ever since he started and yet you think he is the right guy for the job and will improve results?:stephenahand:

since he reads our emails, flood him w/ butch davis emails and the reason why he should be our new coach.

Baghdad Blake's used car sales BS is as bad as Al's bull****... All talk no action.

Mr. Big hat, no cattle.

I'll send him an email with my email tracker enabled. Make sure the opening line is: you and your sugar breasted fat a$$ corch can go find some tainted blood at Jackson, do shots of it, and go do a back flip off I-95 into Overtown.

Typical spin.

It's not just six losses; we didn't have one bad year. This dreadful season is the icing on the cake of year-after-year of consistent subpar seasons, of not performing up to our talent level. We have not beaten a single end-of-the-year top 25 in Golden's 4-year tenure. We are mired in a swamp of mediocrity.

"[L]eaving it up to Al" to fix this disaster is an outright abdication of his responsibility as the athletic director. He has shown that he cannot fix this mess. His pillars, hashtags, coach speak, are falling on deaf ears where it counts the most -- with the players. The only ones who seem to still be listening to this fraud are in the administration.
