Blake James guaranteed a win over the Gators.

Should Blake James be fired if we lose to UF?

I never bought in to Blake James. I like AD's who actually know something about sports and have a "win at all costs" mentality like Gene Smith, Barry Alvarez, and Tom Jurich especially.
 
I voted NO

Why? because he's done us the biggest solid by getting Diaz which is the most he could do within his job...and since he doesn't coach or play, he did the most he could do to help us win the game.....the rest falls on Diaz and the players

When you start blaming Administration for game losses you have much more serious problems

The Dabo Swinney story is the best thing that ever happened to scrub ADs and Coaches. It is the first thing these losers respond with when you ask them why they suck the first few seasons. "Well Dabo only had 6 wins season 3 and it took him 9 seasons to win an NC and look now he is the best HC in the nation". "Well Dabo didn't recruit well his first few seasons and now he has the best team in the nation". "Imagine if they fired Dabo after season 7. Clemson would be kicking themselves right now".

Why do you think stealing Manny Diaz from Temple, without exploring any other options, was a great success? Diaz has accomplished exactly nothing as a college head coach.

The AD has to set the sports teams up to succeed. It's their job to provide the tools so the coaches can go to work. Baylor built a stadium for like 300 M's and they are no where near the football program Miami is.

CMR gave us Manny. I don't give James credit for that bc it's not like Manny was even on his radar. If he was, he would have hired Manny and not Richt.

Exactly. Dabo is the exception and not the rule.

I realize to get people to invest u have to prove u have a good product. So after Manny proves he can win, I expect James to make power moves. If he doesn't he has to go.

  1. CMR hired Manny as a DC
  2. CMR could NOT hire Manny as the head coach ...that is the AD's job
  3. There is no doubt Blake actually hired Manny as our HC...regardless of who recommended or spotted him 1st
I think you're confusing "finding someone" with "hiring someone" . Even then Manny working as a DC with CMR wasn't the first coaching gig he had....UTexas ad Miss St etc etc

Thank god we fired Golden in 15. I could see it now. Dabo just won his first NC in his 9th season. We need to give fat al another 4 years

I don't think u read my response correctly. Blake James did not find Manny, CMR did. It wasn't only until Richt put Manny in James' vision did he realize what a good coach looks like. If Richt didn't hire Manny as our DC he wouldn't be our HC right now. James doesn't get credit for discovering Manny Diaz.

Look, I can only deal with the present.

You're either happy so far with what Manny has done so far while here ....OR you're not. That is ALL anyone can judge

I think he's making some very good moves TO DATE.

I've stated on numerous occasions that any judgement on his success should be based on the actual results of his efforts on the field ...and that remains to be seen....don't need to restate that every time or whenever I say... So far I'm glad he's here

I was disagreeing with your statement that James did us a solid by getting Diaz. If u want to give him credit for making the obvious hire then sure, but it's not like he discovered a good coach on his own. A good coach had to be brought to him and dangled in front of his face. CMR was a B- hire at best.

I only claim Blake hired him. Which is factually correct.

Never claimed Blake "found" him....only that he hired him.

There is no need to discuss any further have a good one bro

He had choices, it was up to him to make the selection ......I'm glad he chose Manny.

Let's just agree that so far it looks like he made a good choice
