...less than 1000 tickets available to sit in the lower bowl for games and he expect there to be 40,000 season tickets sold before the first game

I don't think season tickets sales were the problem. People not using their tickets is what showed up on TV.

Product on the field, lack of enthusiasm around the program and weather all played factors into our attendance...

You will definitely see less empty seats due to product on the field being better just by Richt being here alone. There is a rejuvenation into our program that we haven't had in a long long time and of course the stadium upgrades and the fact you wont bake in the sun for games.

There will be small crowds for small games for the foreseeable future.

I agree and I always take the numbers reported with a big grain of salt. Prior to last season we heard ticket sales and donations were up. Does anyone recall the number of season ticket holders at that time?

I think there will be bigger crowds than normal for our smaller games this year. Not sellouts, but not bone empty either.

A decent coach makes a different. I still wanted Butch but Mark was great pick.

Jesus Christ, let it go dude

I was all in on Butch coming back, and thought he'd be the best hire possible. However, after about 5 minutes of thinking after Richt was hired, I was able to clearly see he was, far and away, the best hire we could have made. Butch would've been better than nearly everyone else on our list, some by a landslide, but getting a coach like Mark Richt is the best thing that could have happened for UM.

there is no logical argument that Butch would be better here then Richt. None. Richt is on a whole other level.

uhhh come on now

it's not like butch built the greatest team of all time by a land slide all while being down 30+ scholarships not to mention the tremendous heat put on him during that whole time

that team was so good it didn't even need a head coach as we both know for **** sure coker sure as **** wasn't one

don't forget that coaching staff he put together either

The fact that Butch was responsible for recruiting the players for all but one of our NC teams, makes it impossible to completely do that -- but seeing Mark hoist the NC trophy will do it. I do think Mark has to get a little nasty to get there. Butch came nasty. All that said, the minute UGA fired Mark, there was only one outcome going to happen.

Yes - amazing recruiter but no one wants him ----- this is a sign. He has sat out longer than Larry Coker did ?
