I'd bet on Herman establishing himself as the premier candidate at the CFB level for a premier vacancy by the end of the season. I think his name stands out from that list as the one who could really turn this program around.

The admin is notoriously cheap, but they need to make him an offer he can't refuse. And if they cite his $2.25 million buyout as some massive obstacle when it's less than 1/3rd the size of what McElwain's was at Colorado State, then they might as well publicly confess what this fan base already knows, which is that they don't care about winning.

We have Butch mother****ing Davis waiting in the wings. We have the top assistant in the NFL, the dude running the #1 offense in the league ready to sign up. We have a shot at Chip Kelly, among others.

For anyone reading this who ISN'T a certified ******: We've had three failed coaches in a row. Miami can't afford to gamble this time - it's too important to the future of the program. We need a proven winner, someone with the right experience who can come in and get it done. Herman, Fuente, etc.... these guys might end up being great coaches one day, or they might end up being another Al Golden. We can't afford to chance it this time around.
 
Reach out to the BOT because James won't have anything to do with hiring a Football Coach.

The ones accustomed to failing and losing, both in the classroom and on the field.

Fuente has only shown excellence against other teams in the American Athletic Conference - 2 year body of work.

Strong only showed excellence for two years in the AAC, and when he moved up to the Big 12, fell flat on his ***. Surprise. Surprise.

Chad Morris right now is something like 1-4 at SMU.

Philip Montgomery is like 2-2 in the American conference. WTF?

Jeremy Pruitt got lucky ONE year at Alabama, and we just saw his defense against Alabama as he was DC for Georgia.

Mark Stoops is currently like 4-1, and doesn't yet have any body of work as a Head Coach.


I'm just not feeling these newbies.

i want a beast defense again but after researching Herman. OMG, the offense he would put together with South Florida talent would score 50 points a game.
 
Butch Davis, Hue Jackson! Proven coaches only, please. I'd rather have the Chimp than some of these guys mentioned. At least he did turn Buttgers into a winner, and coached in the league.

The guy your saying has only coached for games ran an offense that won the national championship with a THIRD STRING QB. Ohio State isn't the same without him. Not to mention, he has only coached four games yet he's never lost.

Herman and Fuente are my #2 and #3 choices (Chip #1 ).

I don't think Morris & Montgomery are ready.

Personally I don't want a defensive HC, so Pruitt and Stoops are out for me.

People may not like the list but it's realistic and every name is considered an up and comer. I don't know much about Hue Jackson so I'm not gonna put him on the list and pretend like I've known about him for months.

Imo Butch is not realistic as I don't think the BOT would hire him.
Chip Kelly would be the best possible hire but I don't see him getting canned this year or we just won't pony up the money for him.

As much as we would all love an established coach, the chances of the dummies at the top breaking the bank for a Patterson or Dantonio are slim to none. If we are gonna discuss coaches might as well be somewhat realistic.
