I was wondering how he went from significant contributor to no minutes after Scott came back.

Next year is going to be brutal. So many young guys.

Gotta maximize this year.

Huge blow IMO. Kid was going to be good.

Agreed, this kid was going to one of our main contributors in next couple of years. Like already said, not a drastic loss this year, but will certainly hurt A LOT next year.

guess we won't see the scramble from Durand, Larkin and him....

Read some quotes how Coach L and Larkin saw it coming in past couple of weeks.

I think he flunked out

FWIW, Bishop Daniels' departure from Miami has been expected by some around the hoops program for "several weeks."

From what I heard he was flunking his classes. Finals just ended and grades are coming out now so it makes sense

Yeah, pretty sure he flunked out.

"he needed a lot of time with papers and exams due in a short period of time."

Kind of a weird article, sounded like he needed to get his act together, all signs pointed to he did, but he obviously did not.

Casagrande article for Sun Sentinel 3:25PM EST

"CORAL GABLES — Miami will be down a man when tipping off at 7 p.m. against Charlotte.

Redshirt freshman guard Bishop Daniels left the team, coach Jim Larranaga announced in a brief statement Friday afternoon. The Raleigh, N.C., product was on a "leave of absence" as announced before the Nov. 28 win over Michigan State.

He was focusing on academics, Larranaga said. The fall semester ended Wednesday when Larranaga and Daniel's teammates had a positive outlook for his future.

"He's doing good," Larranaga said Wednesday. "He's practiced with us on Saturday, Sunday and [Tuesday]. He's doing a good job."

On his leave of absence: "He had a lot of work to do and you want your priorities to be academics and he needed a lot of time with papers and exams due in a short period of time."
Sophomore guard Shane Larkin said he's very close with Daniels in a Wednesday interview.

"I know he was going through a lot of things with school, family, basketball, a lot of things," Larkin said. "He's doing a lot better. We have a class together and we just took our exam and he seemed like he was back to his old ways — just being a joker saying jokes and clowning around.

"I think he's back."

Daniels played in three games this season and averaged six points. He was slowed to begin the season with a hamstring injury suffered just after practices opened in November."

this is a huge hit for the near future. Daniels is going to be a baller somewhere.

Not that he's great, but is Adams redshirting this year? Having him back next year would at least give us another experienced body.
