Billy Napier

Fortunate as **** to get the win against Miss State. ****ed all over his leg on last possession with chance to ice game. Only an INT by a 340-lb DT bailed him out & avoided on-the-field firing.

Kiffin to UF
Kiffin is an offense & QB whisper. Larger than life personality, rallies the fans & juices the program, but have doubts about whether he can bring a national title. His offense shredded UGA in Athens yesterday, but at the end of the day offense shut down & his defense got exposed. Can’t win big without a solid defense.

I’m not sure Kiffin is interested, from what I have heard as that he really likes to party- he got sober in Oxford - that may mean more to him than people think.

People in recovery tend to stay away from the things they used to do that led them to that life- it may just keep him in Oxford

I think they end up hiring Lashlee. It would be a good hire, within budget, and Lashlee has earned a good SEC HC gig. Not the sexiest hire but a smart one.

While that would be smart… how can I say this as pc as possible? From what I know of the UF people of influence and their core fanbase. I just don’t see them hiring a person of color to head their football program.

Lashlee is a Arkansas/Texas Southwest guy, he's not leaving SMU to come back to Florida.

He may leave SMU for a better job at major Texas program, but UF is a lateral move & a fools gold job in a bloated conference.

Nobody is going to win at Florida because Florida isn't supposed to win in the SEC.

They are cannon fodder used to make the top of the conference look good.

Also read his daughter goes to ole miss, son plays high school football in Oxford, and ex-wife now lives in Oxford as well. He makes $9 mil/year now so will get a big raise no matter he stays or leaves. Florida will have to offer him a lot of $ to leave.

The way Lane is winning in Oxford right now they will build him a statue for 10 win seasons, even without a NC UF is delusional and would can him without a NC.

I would think his family is a big reason for his sobriety, if the ex wife moved to Oxford then I would think that this scenario has already been discussed and a decision already made - if other coaching opportunities presented themselves

dude is sober now.....and his entire family moved to oxford. they were living in california kiffins kids wasnt even seeing him...came off like he was almost a dead beat while coaching there....he has gotten tight with his kids now.....his daughter goes to ole miss...and dude ex wife even moved to oxford....his brother is down the street ont he same block and they have family dinners weekly.....and basically he stated he is better now....he doesnt want to be in a place that is so risky an firing even though he understans the profession.(bad taste from usc) He might have came to UM but i dont think he is signing up and uprooting his family for uf or fsu when he didnt do it for auburn which he stated on the doc.

I would put Napier and Franklin in the analyst booth and promise them life in Coral Gables while collecting welfare checks from PSU and UF.

They can help analyze recruits and programs left on the schedule.

The kids and where they are now age wise will make the difference.

The ex wife thing… with her being a UF alum and her dad being who he was there will be a draw there for sure.
