We need to go this route scheduling OOC, nothing but Temple’s, FIU’s, etc ..ACC teams are only afforded 1 loss so what’s the point of playing a big dog team (ND cough cough) if they apparently don’t matter. Save all our bullets for conference play and hope we’re just too talented (25 & 26 classes looking to be unreal) we’ll be able to overcome coaching deficiencies.

Side note all P4 teams need to boycott ND and make those fvckers join a conference

Unfortunately for the fans, this seems to be the model everyone is looking to move towards. If the CFP committee values the "eye test" more than wins and losses, it becomes obvious that it's in every team's best interest to avoid direct comparisons with out of conference foes and instead focus on winning in conference.

I fear we may soon see the end of big non-conference games. Hope I'm wrong

Maybe move to a conference where the games are considered big…

OOC scheduling will officially die if ND gets in and we don't (assuming we both finish undefeated)

it'll be the most clear cut reason as to no value being given for scheduling tough and winning OOC

We got hammered for doing that last year.

And we won all our OOC games this year, and last year too.

So it seems we’re damned if we do and damned if we don’t.

This is the exact opposite of what you should do. This is what kept us out of the CFP. It wasn't the losses, although those were also a pre-requisite. It was the fact that we didnt play anyone that hurt us.

We are in the current projected models of the CFP (and will until the end of the season provided we win out) because of the OUT OF CONFERENCE WINS over Notre Dame and Florida.

Those OOC wins matter big time to the committee. With a win-out and non-ACCCG appearance, we're still probably the last team or one of the very last few teams out, even with two losses. Those OOC games really matter.

I don’t know for sure but I tend to agree. For now it seems like ACC titles or bust and just schedule basura outside of it. Just don’t see value in taking any risks OOC with so little upside.

Everyone who agrees with this, please like the post.

The only fix for college football is to forcefully break up, democratize, and level the power conferences so that those championships actually mean something, instead of merely being reliant upon absurd, formulaic tiebreakers.

Yea, the one thing we have proven over the years is we need tougher conference games.
Give me tough and physical or give me death!

I’m not sure I agree with it entirely but he has a valid point regarding there seemingly being no point in playing a good OOC team if we don’t get credit for the win while ND gets credit for losing to us. That seems fairly accurate as to the way it’s working out. That said, we’re foremost to blame for losing games to teams we shouldn’t have lost to and we are pitiful for never winning our so-called “****** conference”.

To me, it basically comes down to if you are in the B1G or SEC, scheduling tough OOC games doesn't help. Winning within the conference is enough to satisfy the committee. Kudos to the SEC for mandating their schools to play at least 1 OOC game each year. The B1G has no such mandate and Indiana is taking full advantage of that caveat.

If you are in any other conference, you need to schedule B1G or SEC schools OR win your conference. Those are the only "wins" that count in the committee's eyes. Oh, and non-B1G and non-SEC losses count twice as much negatively as a B1G or SEC loss.

If Miami didn't have ND on its schedule this year, they would not even be in the conversation still for the playoff.

Exactly. There are a lot of people saying we should get in with our win over ND. No one would be saying we should be in if we played 3-4 terrible OOC games. Why give them another easy out? We have solid OOC wins. How many teams ahead of us do? IF we get in this year, it will be because of those OOC games.

Yea im good with not playing Notre Dame...id replace them with uconn **** it.

It makes no sense if u beat them or not.. its fugazi.

It only works if we lost to them to help the other team not just nd.

they want nd, bama the regular blue bloods to be in regardless and are willing to bend or push whatevr narratives to ensure that thy ar in.

saban spent time basically saying there should be 7 sec teams in....espn as herbstreit pumping texas and whomever else...the fix is in. from pre szn rankings to the h2h not mattering when its snot the team they want in. espn and media been pumping how much the acc sucks yet nd tookan l from us and fsu ran a train on bama..but those dont count you know cause game 1. Yet had the results been the opposite it would be touted wins

the non conf is actually the best part of our resume. the problem is we cant beat the dog **** acc teams
They're not dog**** teams, that's just the narrative that's been allowed to fester.

Put Ole Miss in our Conference and have everyone play up to them like they play up to us and see how many losses they pick up. It'd be one or two every year.
