What’s your guys general thoughts on Bill at the college level as a HC. I thinks wayyyy more highly regarded in the coaching ranks than in what fans think of him..what he did at Pedo state under those circumstances imo was very under valued. He’s been a NFL Gm/HC so the organizational skills are there. Even if u disagree with some of his personnel decisions. Fact remains most the top cfb coaches would flame out in yhe nfl too. And now he’s at Bama and sees that machine up close.

traded Deandre Hopkins for a washed up RB and a 2nd hard pass.
Thank u a voice of reason....people still want rosters littered with 5th rounders. We need a guy that can coach and recruit. People think if u go to bama u learn how to recruit...nope that a relationship personality thing. U can't learn to be a people person u either have it or u don't ask Rumph. First round DB and no one wanted to be coached by him

He was fired for his God awful organizational skills. He's an OC all the way imo, maybe HC with a strong AD/GM overseeing him
At the NFL level. With contracts and trades. We not talking about NFL. Great college coaches translate at a very low rate. And still it’s all about personnel. That includes Players and staff

Bama will have their pick of the litter. Doubt it’s him. Don’t think they’re grooming anyone anyways. And god help whoever has to follow sabag
Most of the Bama diehards want Dabo to be the successor to Saban, because he’s from Birmingham & actually played at Bama, plus he understands how to build a program up to a high standard & maintain prolonged success.

But I think whenever Saban does retire they’ll go get someone from the NFL.

Bill isn’t all that interested in being a college HC, he’s only being an OC for Bama because that’s what almost all legit fired coaches do when they’re looking for their job, they go do a year at the Bama coahcing repair factory & then they get hired to their next destination of where they really want to go.

Bill O’Brien wants to get back into NFL coaching, so he’s just doing what Brian Daboll did, take a year under Saban, then next year once the league has a bunch of firings & new openings he’ll get hired to be an OC on someone’s staff, or possibly even get a 2nd shot at being a HC.

I actually think O’Brien would be great for the Raiders as long as they don’t give him autonomy over player personnel lol

Forget all that, dude traded the best WR in football for David Johnson and a 2nd round and 4th round pick. PASSSSSSSSSS
