The inability of the OL to get consistent push in the run game. The sacks are a problem, but there are so many ways to clean that up. Not being able to get a consistent push that allows our RB’s yardage before contact is a serious problem. We haven't been able to get consistent and reliable yardage on the ground which serious affects our down & distance. I am not talking about getting chunk yards on big runs. That is nice but without consistency, we get stifled when it counts. If we could rely on getting 4 to 5 yards on our running plays, it would open up the offense and the plays we can call. A team like Wisconsin will be tough to beat because their back gets 5 yards upfield before he even needs to make a move. That opens up so make that can be done. It makes their QB Coan look like a Heisman candidate. Williams is accurate as it is. Imagine if he could rely on our backs getting 4 to 5 yards on 1st and 2nd down consistently.
