Obviously, the offense coordinator.
That 19pts per game, Gattis trash speed and space offense was the worst that ever came through Miami. A dead cat calling plays would be an upgrade over Gattis.
From a personnel standpoint.
The entire OL without a doubt!
It really is amazing what a difference a good OL does for an offense. ( And same can be said for DL on defense )
I played HS ball and was a skilled guy and mostly focus on skilled positions when watching a game. None of it works without the OL, and you only really realize it when your OL sucks.
LB is the next biggest upgrade. We have some LBs that can play the position. Not great, but good.
I think we still lack experienced depth . ( Sorry, but Flag is still not it), I know he gets a lot of hate on here and I don’t want to knock the kid. He is not Glen Cook bad, but he’s not very good. First play I noticed him, was him shooting the wrong gap, getting turned and washed and the back ripped off a 39 yard run, with no one within 10 yards of his gap responsibility.
That has been the consistent LB play here at Miami for the last few years. I think we now at least have LBs that have the physical ability to play the position.
We were so bad last year, it would be difficult to imagine being any worse, but the whole team looks a lot better from top to bottom IMO.
