Biggest Coastal Rival

I suppose it's Virginia Tech. But mostly a technicality. It's not like I'm grabbing the schedule immediately to find the date and specifics of that game.

Not the same without the Orange Bowl or without the Gators on the schedule. College rivalries are regional. We somehow got stuck in a conference with too many schools in a region there's no reason to care about and with virtually zero relationship to Miami.

Its VT, hands down. And people keep harping about UF and ND. Lets face it, those are "Historical rivals" but they aren't really current. ND was a rival back in the days of being independent, but we haven't really had a regular series with them in a long time. There is a history there, but you cannot really argue that its any kind of current rivalry. Most of our players weren't even alive when that was a real rivalry. Sans for UF. At least the regional proximity there lends itself to some constant feeling of "rivalry" and dislike among the programs and fan bases, but the UF rivalry has been pretty much a historical footnote since they pussied out in the 80s.

I would say the biggest rival remains FSU for obvious reasons, although sadly our mediocrity I think has made it such that Clemson is now as much a rival to them in the ACC as we are. And VT is the biggest rival in the Coastal.

What conference should we be in?

Not sure too many people from South Florida give a **** about:
- Texas
- The Big 10
- The Hillbilly South
- Anyone other than Miami
 
UVA. It can't be VT, you have to win more than two games against a team in 12 years before it can be a rivalry.

We are about even with UVA this decade. And this will be Mike London's or Goldens job on the line when we play this year. Thanks Shalala.
