Say what you want about UGA but you have to believe that UGA making the championship game kinda puts pressure on Richt. A 10-3 win year won't cut it next year honestly. UGA can't be a title contender while we're just a 10 win team that can't win it's own conference.

Whether you want to believe it or not Richt will be judge biased on what Kirby does at UGA. If Kirby continues to built an elite program you would have to figure that the heat on Richt to start winning REALLY big will only heat up faster and if Kirby is the next Coker then it won't heat up as quickly. 2018 season will tell us if we're either the old UGA's replacement or legitimate soon to be title contender. Look at the Roster:

56/75 scholarship players where brought in by Richt and Co. That's (.746/basically 75%) of the roster. What we do this year will be an indicator of what we will look like under Richt (Just a ACC contender, a NC contender, or underachievers.)

Another 10 win season WILL cut it here, although our expectations are higher. Consistently winning and recruiting is how you build depth, because recruits will see a consistent winning program. Will I take a 29-10 record in 3 years with a coach who is rebuilding and stocking up with top 10 recruiting classes? Yes, but the goal is ultimately championships here. We are trending fast and the coaches are still maximizing and overachieving with some of Al Golden’s players.

Richt's not going anywhere anytime soon...and comparing a roster loaded at UGA which Richt built by in large to a work in progress at UM is a bit unfair going into Year Three in my opinion...

Lol so if we win ACC next year, that's our ceiling? No chance to win a ship ever if we just win the ACC next year right? You can't make this stuff up.

Mark will be judged by what he does here, not what some other coach does. He needs to win a NC at Miami, plain and simple. It is all about The U. Smart can we all the ncs he wants or none, Mark only needs to win one here and must win one here. No other test or measurement matters.

While I don't care one way or another, I do not think Smart wins one at UGA. Winning NCs is not what Georgia does. It takes a combination of coach and school to win. Saban did not win Bama's first, second or third NC. They were winning them long before him. If uga was such a school, they would have fired Mark after a half dozen years.

I am happy with Mark this year but the clock is ticking already. This is Miami and you win or you are done. Next year is the biggest of Mark's coaching career. The excitement at The Rock will fad if there are more losses.

Lol Kirby “continues to build an elite program”. UGA has been an elite program for quite some time. They were in the top 10 all the time under Richt. He couldn’t get over the hump. Hopefully as he’s building us back up, he’s learned and we get the bounces we need to win a few rings here. If ppl want to compare Richt to Smart it’s whatever but you can’t compare rosters. It’s takes years and years to develop the depth and stock pile talent. We just came off a 15 year run of .500 football. The U is actually ahead of sch.
UGA felt they had the talent to win now and that’s why the fired Richt. And they weren’t wrong but they weren’t right cuz they still lost a big game with major coaching gaffs. Their boosters will now double down on bags for Kirby and try to buy a ring. I don’t see but hey maybe I’m biased.

You are easily one of the top 5 worst porsters on this board. So much nonsense comes out of you.

we are 2 more top 10 recruiting classes away from being back, DEPTH matters (see last night).

After getting fired at Georgia and seeing Kirby get to the national championship game so fast, the loss by Georgia means that Coach Richt still has a chance to psychologically recover and get his manhood back like Coach Kline did.

If UGA nose dives next season after losing 31 of Richt's Srs then ten wins won't look too shabby. Doesn't mean that ten wins is OK though. We need a return to the ACCCG and a bowl win/playoff berth

When Kirby arrived at UGA, he already had a Ferrari parked in the garage; Richt, on the other hand, had a Prius.

For now, that's the difference.

While I do believe making the ACC Championship game should be our annual floor, I'm aware that it is going to take Richt a couple more years to build the talent and depth he needs to win a national championship. Kirby never had to do that — end of story.

If we won 10 games next year, it would be our first time going back to back 10 win seasons since the 2002-2003 seasons. The lack of context on this board is beyond astounding. We haven't been **** in 15 years! The standard is championships, I get that, but you guys are absurd sometimes with realizing just how bad we were.
