Big WHAT IF SCENRIO on the PLAYOFF debate !!

The NCAA basketball tournament (March madness ) has a rival that is almost as prestigious (and once was moreso) called the National Invitation Tournament.

HERES THE question: what if our UM CANES hosted their own RIVAL playoff???

B4 anyone disagrees, who wouldn’t want to see this fild like it up on the grid iron:

1 Miami vs 8 Texas
2 Utah vs 7 Tennessee
3 Vandy vs 6 USC
4 Michigan vs 5 Houston

ROUND one (first round games) all played AT HOME

Round 2 (2’nd) Played at HOME

Round 3 (IF NECESSARY) played at a neatral site game (probably Orlando)

I know Randall Thrill HILL would BE DOWN !!!!

The issue is already bowl games and NFL hopefuls will opt out including ones looking to portal. Thats why I think they will expand the playoff bc it keeps players interested.

I suggested this 2 years ago and the geniuses on cis said no. We dont need bowl games. Get another tourney going. But they said no one will watch. I call bull****. It could start the week after the final season ends.

In the end - if they want to go with a slightly bigger tournament - I am fine with that - but I still think there should be a relegation model with 2 separate leagues - similar to how Euro Soccer does it with relegation. It would make that middle of the pack much more interesting if your team has a chance to move up to the next level (or repercussions if they underperform).

Interesting idea but no way the SEC or Big Ten will ever accept any of their programs relegated to lesser status. Their objective is to have a league with the two conferences. Both of those conferences expand with a handful of additional teams and then game on.

Miami needs to be among those additional teams.

The remnants of the Big 12, the ACC, and select G5 teams are on the outside looking in and make up a lower tier with their own playoff.
