@Nebraska in the ACC/Big 10 Challenge on national TV (ESPN U Wed. at 930) and then Sunday we host VT in our first ACC game of the year, also on national TV (ESPN U at 1230). Neither team is great by any stretch of the imagination, but these will still be 2 big tests. First NU who is 5-2, because it's a road game. They have wins over Florida Gulf Coast by 24 and Georgia by 8 and their losses are to UAB by 13 (UAB just beat UNC) and UMass who is #24). Then VT, who isn't good at all, but is basically a must win, because it's a home ACC game against a team worse than us. They lost to SC-Upstate, Michigan State by 19, and Seton Hall. Their most impressive win is over West VA by 5. The other wins are over crap teams. After these game we play Savannah State before having 11 games off for final exam break. Winning these two (and then SSU, so all three) would be huge. To be 8-3, 1-0 heading into LaSalle would be great for this team, especially since we're 1-2 plays away from being undefeated at this point.

Either way, it's one game at a time, and hopefully we play like we did in the second half against Arizona State, against the Huskers.

Nebraska has that new gym this year. FGCU went there early and got spanked. Coach L. will have them ready

Nebraska isn't great, but they're also a bit of an unknown - their starting lineup has like, 3 or 4 transfers/JUCOs. They were predicted by the media to finish last in the Big 10, and I've only found one individual prediction that has them finishing above 10 out of 12. They also match up with us in an interesting way - their top guys (play between 19 and 29 minutes per game) include 6'10" and 6'8" bigs, and then 6'7", 6'7", 6'6" and 6'4" wings, and then PGs. While we've been largely successful in this zone, we do have the opportunity to mix it up a bit in the man to man considering we almost match up perfectly with them, size-wise and they're not a bad shooting team.

Virginia Tech is certainly not good, but they did beat a decent West Virginia team and almost beat Seton Hall. We need to beat them at home, and it would be nice to have an ACC win in the bank and be in first place (or at least a tie) for almost a month.

This game is a great road test for the squad, Nebraska is not an easy place to get a win.
