Visits Big Uglies (OL/DL) and 7v7 1.0 Camp May 31, 2026

When I was in high school and when I returned to coach WR/DB's for a few years in 2013, they needed an extra coach, so they sent me with our hog molly's and Oline D line coach to Down and Dirty lineman camp at Webber International University. Not as flashy or expensive as IMG etc. camps but it was a brutal weeklong camp. You arrive not knowing what's in store for the first time and when you leave, you're a full-blown Mule ready to maul opposing lineman to death lol

The campus is old school; run down crappy dorms you stay in, and the food wasn't the best but it's a legit lineman camp with top talent. Been running for 34 years now

I have a couple family members who attended that camp more than once. One ended up as a three year starter at an ACC school. He still mentions that camp today.

Didn't know that camp was still going on. That camp was legit and back in the late 90s and early 2000s I think it was the only padded camp, which meant the big guys could get after it, and they did.

The camp especially from morning to mid day (it was legit almost an all day contact camp for a full week) looked like scenes from Junction Boys.

Gnarly stuff for sure, when I was in high school 04-07 some of our lineman cried about it didn't want to go consecutive years because it was so brutal. By the time I started coaching 2013 and got sent to it they had to make changes to safety and was still rough but nothing like before.

Yeah those early years was brutal. Middle of nowhere Florida, hot as ****, physical play all day, ****** field conditions, and the dorms were barely liveable (some of this is hyperbole, but not much hahaha).
