Big Ten Football

Acc has the weakest of the p5 protocols as it relates to testing. Should be interesting to see how it goes

I said this last night. A big rumor is going around. The leagues and the country messed the season up. Blame ourselves

the office yes GIF

Can you comprehensively compare the different protocols so that you can back up your statement that the ACC has the weakest protocols?
Yes, sec and b10 require twice a week testing as a min. Acc is using ncaa guideline of once a week 3 days before the game just as the first

Source: Big Ten presidents are meeting today. All options are on the table. There's some presidential momentum for canceling the fall football season. It's unknown if there's enough support to make that decision today.

If science trumps college football, there will be a season. This isn’t about player safety.
Well I guess you know more than Gene Smith if you need to know who that is I’ll fill you in. It’s all about player safety and that comes from a meeting in Ohio State Football ops yesterday.

What kind of tests are they using in the Big Ten and SEC, and what makes their protocol better?

They need to bubble it up but can’t bc they aren’t paid professionals. Limit travel and outside contact. Other issue is their rosters are too large

So these players think they are safer without football and all this testing? Haha I don’t get it. Once football is shut down they are on their own all fall. Good luck not catching the virus or finding places to test you when you don’t have your football program helping you. People are too stupid to see that football is not adddinG risk. It’s minimizing it.

It makes too much sense. Let’s just throw them out in the general population to fend for themselves, party, visit home, and infect their grandmas

I won’t say I disagree with your statement, however, I think this is a bit different than freak injuries, flu, etc. The science says it’s rare that college age athletes can get sick or even notice they have it. I can’t dispute that. It’s the one’s that will and the optics. Mostly...it’s the optics. They’re horrible.

DJ Durkin lost his job for something that happens a few times a year each year.

All I can say is if I had a son that was playing college football now, I would want him to play, especially if he was in a P5 program. I know the coaches and administration would do the best they could to try to keep them in a bubble. But like I said in a prior post, if you’re really worried about their safety, why on earth would you just leave them to their own devices which is essentially what would happen if there is no season.

If there's no football in the fall and it goes to the spring, that means there's no way in **** Lawrence and co. play. We would only lose maybe Roche, maybe Brevin; King has way more to prove so he'll stay.
