Can you imagine the confusion down the road if the P5 is not in sync for future championships?

IMO it will be ALL in or ALL out
 
The whole “let’s play in the spring” thing is a fig leaf to appease fans. 1) although there may be less community transmission and/or even a limited vaccine, COVID and the risk of liability won’t be gone; 2) the NFL is top dog and won’t move their draft because of the B10; and 3) it’s not gonna be feasible to play both in the spring and fall of ‘21.

Let’s call it what it is - no 2020 season for these players/teams/conferences.

Let's presume that the SEC, ACC, and Big 12 proceed and get a modicum of a 2020 season completed. Meanwhile PAC-12 and Big 10 say "maybe spring", but their medical experts remain unencouraged about the prospect of a spring season either.

At some point people will begin to ask, "Are you encouraged about a 2021 season?". If the SEC, ACC, and Big 12 play and there is a lack of confidence that the PAC-12 and Big 10 will play in 2021, you could see a mammoth wave of transfers to the schools that still play. Everyone school that still plays could see their roster bolstered.

And for each conference that skipped playing in 2020 and 2021...should any of these schools elect to restart their football programs in 2022 or later, it will be like SMU restarting their football team in 1989. There's nothing left, and you're relaunching with 25 scholarship players and the rest walkons. You're talking about the better part of a decade to get a USC, Washington, or Michigan back up and running to where they once were.

Exactly there will only be freshman and sophomores on those rosters everyone else will declare.
