Big O today

We would have had a few more players appear to "show up" last night if we had a qb capable of getting it anywhere close to their catch radius with any consistency. Rosier's inaccuracy and inability to use the whole field in the passing game restricts the offense, kills drives, tires the defense, stifles momentum, drains confidence and wastes talent. Kid's play is so bad I honestly believe it affects almost every facet of the team.

I didn't see a lack of talent last night. I saw a maddening inability to use it to it's full potential by both our qb and our coaching staff..
this team is checked out as long as malik is qb

Eh. There is nothing wrong with So Fla football. Our problem is the best local kids are going elsewhere.

You could have all five stars like FSU and still end up like FSU because of corching. If I'm not mistaken, FSU has more 5 stars than Clemson. A five star CB playing 8 yards off the WR on 3rd and 7 isn't going to do anything more than a 3 star could. Miami was as big and fast as LSU. FSU is far, far more talented than VT, but at this moment they are getting worked (I hope I don't jinx it). The bigger issue last night, as has been in recent years, is player development. We have terrible coaching at every position but WR and RB.

He absolutely has underrecruited OL. And there’s no credit owed for signing kids who can’t play here. He took none his first year (one if you count tre johnson, who was listed as a DE on rivals, and who wasnt good). That right there was a huge mistake. Then he took dykstra, hillery, and herbert along with donaldson and gaynor his second year. Heavy on numbers, not so heavy on game ready kids. Then only 3 last cycle when we needed more. And now only 2 commitments so far for 19. Not enough of a focus or a priority. And DL has been worse!

There's a good bit of truth here, then you couple it with our OL recruiting and development with the previous staff, you have a poor OL

Absolutely correct. Poor QB play effects everything.

Talent and coaching are not the same issue. You can have talent issues and good coaching, talent issues and bad coaching, or great talent and good or bad coaching. Just because having talent doesn’t guarantee good coaching isn’t a reason to think talent isn’t important.

We have two separate issues. Roster/talent issues AND coaching issues.

You think VT is as talented as FSU? Come on. Last year FSU had 2x as many 5 stars as Clemson. Yet VT just worked FSU at Doak. It's all on corching. Miami is more than talented enough to finish 11-1 and be in the ACC championship game. After what I saw yesterday in terms of preparation and scheme, we aren't beating VT at Blacksburg and winning the ACC Coastal. I believe we have a QB on the roster who is as talented as any QB in the country (Williams) but Richt keeps plopping Rosier on the field. If we don't have a legit QB on the roster, than you are correct, we have a talent problem (and that's Richt's fault after 3 years). The OL does not appear to have improved much since Richt showed up. Personally, I think they could be effective if utilized in the correct scheme (spread offense). They are absolutely terrible for long developing plays and the RPO. We are fortunate to have studs at RB who somewhat mask their deficiencies. We also have a defense that should be far better than it is, given the personnel. I'm not buying the talent argument. LSU doesn't have world beaters at QB, RB, or WR, but our defense couldn't keep them off the scoreboard. The Miami team I saw against LSU wasn't deficient in talent anywhere except at QB and P.

how about bags? pretty simple. id rather the death penalty trying to win then watch that ******* hot garbage again.

QB and ST aside, if you think our OL and DL are good enough to compete with the top teams, then we will just disagree.

You seem to think that because a good coach can with time build a competitive program with lesser recruits than Alabama gets that
Somehow that means we must have enough talent, because we have a **** coach. It’s a logical fail all the way.

We have some talented kids. We are not where we need to be overall. Especially on the lines. And obviously at QB.

That isnt a defense of richt’s coaching.
