Everyone assumes Auburn will have a horrible season and he will decommit, but I think they will do ok and he can put up monster numbers in that system and get paid bigtime to do it. Just not sure why he would flip to come to a RB room at Miami that is more difficult to get volume of carries in.

Moderate volume of carries is a good thing. Why get beat up more than necessay?

Not at all difficult to flipping based off the finances. The purpose and the reason he's not a cane right now is because we will not invest in a running back the number that Auburn gave him it makes no business sense. The reason we invest in offensive line and defensive line the way that we do is because those are the positions that creates all the other players into who they become. Why would we invest in that in a running back when the numbers will be inflated due to their actual value opposed to our value as an offensive line. That kid's stupid he made a money grab now to go and play for Auburn which is fine I understand you want your money but if you're thinking long-term your value is going to be far more as a cane long term then it will be at Auburn for a dude that's never put together a machine like this

Agreed.

He will get his carries and by default get numbers over his three career.

The smart move is preserve his body by rotating his carries and running behind a strong OL, but that's a long-term perspective for one's career most youngsters don't possess.

MJC would kill it in Miami's offense (talent around him, OL, scheme, etc), but hard to pass up on a lot of money and the guarantee of being RB1 as a true frosh.

All that said, losing out on MJC isn't a major loss as Mario and crew have proven they will and can get guys to keep this machine moving forward.

Give me Jacobs and his brother. Keep stacking and developing the trenches.

What we do with OL to benefit RB, Auburn /UTenn manufacture with that stupid scheme. Not NFL relevant and why I'd literally never draft a QB+WR that goes through there. But UTenn recently produced Jaylen Wright and Dylan Sampson... And RBs in draft is more about Talent and athleticism anyways.

RB is one of those positions where it should be undervalued in terms of NIL because Committee approach is way better $/product.
But I do think in college IF you get a stud for 3yrs, it is actually well worth the money usually - if they are actually treated like a bellcow like Jeanty was. However I think that's NOT best for the actual player himself... So I can see this being good for Auburn (assuming MJC is a legit dawg), bad for MJC, and an obvious choice for us not to match... However if Auburn doesn't just work MJC into the dirt, and he's making a **** load of money, and ultimately the scheme is fine for RBs and his talent is there which is ultimately what matters for RBs in draft... Well could turn out to be a great decision by him. It really just depends if he expected to get 300carries or more/yr. Like if after 3 yrs he has 700 carries, that's a lot of wear and tear. But also RB is the position you want to maximize your money and get to the NFL as early as possible. So....

Fletcher leaves after this year. There's no guarantee Brown, Lyle, Pringle all come back. Obviously I hope I'm wrong but 2 out of that group may very well hit the portal for more PT.

Agreed. Think it would make sense to take another RB. It's a position where depth is really important. RBs get banged on probably as much as any position.

I agree but some people dont see it that way. They want all the carries cause they got it in HS but they werent getting hit by Bain and Moten and Torre all game. Lol
They will learn like Fletcher has that it's best to share and be ready for the big playoff games.

It's very difficult to flip off of finances if the number you have to give him upsets the rest of the RB room. I agree with Mario in not giving a RB a massive bag when OL, DL, QB and DB are the more important positions IMO.
I'm not saying I agree with the kid's decision, but I understand why some people would choose how he did.
He will still share the carries at Auburn. Its not like he will run 30 plus times a game. And with how they run wide splits on the line, he is not carrying the ball the same way that we do.
I hope we flip him, but not because we up the finances to get him.

Miami got lucky last year, the rbs stayed relatively healthy. Pringle and Brown did a job when Fletcher was out and then Fletcher came back rested and obviously went off in the playoffs.
