alot of these kids are committed pending the outcome of season. we win 10 games, they come. Golden gets fired, its pending who the new coach is.
 
butch is one of those. Mario is not. i know a few coaches who told me they would tell their kids to play for butch because they know it will make them into NFL studs.
 
Hiring butch is a win win situation from every angle. The amount of hype and hope it would pump into the program is almost sickening, will it happen I'm inclined to say not. Blake James, bot, and the president just dont give a ****.

he would be cheap. great staff. leave an heir apparent. coaches would tell their kids to come here. we would win and put kids into the nfl like crazy. most important of all, he wants redemption. he wants this so bad.
 
I'm not sure what I'd do if we actually got Butch back. It would (almost) make the recruiting season more exciting than the football season - almost...

It would be amazing if it happened. We'd gave a championship within 5 years....

Every NFL scout would start watching every recruit from the moment Butch offer him. HOFers don't grow on trees but they do off Butch

I wonder what all the "Fire Butch Davis" banner flying fans back in 1995-96 would say if somehow they read these prayers for Butch in 2015. There minds would be freakin blown and would be about as livid as fans are now about AG.

How many games did he win here? Al has had alot of talent ad well. Benefit of being located in south Florida. As ive said before. My gma could have a top 10 team here.
 
Butch hype always makes me laugh. Dude has won 0 championships. 0 just let that sink in. He was loaded and still found a way to take a L somehow someway. If he was here in 01 I'm not sure we go undefeated he was that much of a liability.

UNC was stacked and continually fell short let also remember all that nonsense he had going on behind the scenes. Leave butch in the past

We got cheated out of a MNC game Butch's last season here in 2000 when FSU went and **** the bed against OU. He did way more then Golden under similar circumstances.

Yea he did like bail on the U. And also have a huge scandal take place while at UNC. hes old as f*** also. Give it a rest. He will never coach here again unless someone hires him as a coordinator. Thats why hes in sirius now. Gtfoh

Its amazing. Yet its probably the same fans wanting him back. The grass is always greener.......
 
Butch recruited and DEVELOPED 1st round talent in 5 yrs, under REAL sanctions. Fat Al can't even be in the same conversation.

Recruiting and landscape of ncaaf was way different 20 years ago. If a player had 1 decommit he was a red flag guy. Social media has changed everything forever. Cant compare 2 decades of football in between.

The fack does social media (I agree it is ruining everything) have to do with the fact that kids would have to be turned away because there's no more room to be coached and developed by the GOAT?
