Big Boys have all the same thing in common...

Clemson, OSU, Georgia, Bama...

When they need a TD to win a game, they line up in power and run the ball down your throat ..
until they play each other, then the QB's need to make plays, but OSU and Clemson games were mirror images of each other, as well as PSU and Cuse played, the big boys just leaned on them til they folded

Keep recruiting!!!

They can also stop the run.

I hate bama just as much as the next guy but ain’t no one beating them now that they have a qb like that
nobody is beating bama they will cruise easy to another title, to big too strong and too fast and too much talent. Everyones going in slow motion when they play them, cant wait till saban retires.

I remember a NEBRASKA team that was never supposed to be beaten … and was.
I remember a MIAMI team that was never supposed to be beaten … and was.

Bama looks great, but every team can be beaten. You know this.
No team can beat Alabama but Alabama. If bama is playing bama football, then they are the best team I’ve seen since us in 2001. And I’m so serious about that. Tua to me is that special. Bama has had some dominate teams but never a QB like this

You're preaching to the choir, man.

RUN.THE.FOOTBALL.

If that isn't your brand of football...you need to take a walk. Its what wins football games in college football. When all else fails, you need to be able to line up, man on man, and run the football and grind out drives. Very little else matters. After that, its about stopping the fru fru nonsense YAC that 2nd tier teams and Group of 5 teams like to utilize to get garbage yards versus the non-elites.

Every team that loses to LSU this year will come away thinking, “We should have won that game”. But, LSU is frustratingly sound and they’ve been that way for a while. Remember the 9-6 game with Alabama from 2011? They’re probably one of the only schools that’s not afraid of Alabama.
Ain’t nobody holding this bama team to 9 points tho.
Let me say this another way: your point stands, but so does mine. That said, LSU is like boxing a southpaw, or guarding a left handed player, or playing army/navy … even when they’re not better they’re difficult to beat.

I can legitimately see LSU going undefeated and your statement being true. They’re not mutually exclusive.
i feel you but, the only type of team I can see beating bama is a oklahoma because that QB they have is a game changer. LSU imo cant just line it up and expect to beat bama. They have to score. And as impressive as LSUs start has been, id say it’s been inspite of the QB play so far. It’s gonna take a Johnny manziel/ can newton type performance to beat them

You nailed it again. OK ain’t beating Bama (yes; I’m disavowing my “any given Saturday...”). If Baker couldn’t beat UGA - and he was close - Murray CAN’T beat Bama.

I actually figured that if LSU was going to lose a game that Ole Miss was that trap game for them, but Burrow had his best game. LSU … can frustrate/nullify (in the mildest sense; they’re not stopping Bama just holding them to under 3 TDs) Bama. But LSU has to worry about UGA first.
idk man. I actually think Murray is way more talented (don’t strike me down lol) and a way more dynamic runner than baker ever was. Remember who Murray was coming out of HS. Was a Texas football legend. He likely won’t be the pro prospect baker was but that kid has confidence oozing out of him. And he might just take home the heisman. Texas will be a good test

That's where Richt is trying to get us.

Only when we're able to line up and run the ball consistently will I look down my nose at ACC opponents and pencil us in for the ACC Championship Game every year.

That's how you win those games against VT / GT et al when you're not firing on all cylinders.

At the moment we're simply not there. We have to play well to beat those teams.

I get what OP is saying but come on Clemson had to put there big boy pants on vs Syracuse..................................not bama or uga or osu............................SYRACUSE....................it should of never came to that.
But I do wish our team to get to that physical point to push people around on OL and I think with Neal next year u will see that.

Stop with the misleading thread titles!!!!!!

I thought this was gonna be another crank thread.

They bama are how we were in mid 80-early 90s we just reloaded.our second and third teams were better than most div 1 teams 1st string.we play bama this year our players better be in the best conditioning shape they can be in.caused we'd face bama who has great depth everywhere.

Every playoff team has a solid OL and DL. You need them to win. As we saw against LSU, we arent there yet. We are close, but not there! We need quality depth at both positions.

OL is important, and we need to get better in order to compete with the big boys. That being said, did you even watch the OSU game? Here are OSU's final two drives, when they "needed TDs to win a game" 9 pass, 3 run

(7:59 - 4th) Dwayne Haskins pass complete to C.J. Saunders for 5 yds to the OhSt 30
  • 2nd & 5 at OSU 30
(7:26 - 4th) Dwayne Haskins pass complete to Austin Mack for 8 yds to the OhSt 38 for a 1ST down
  • 1st & 10 at OSU 38
(7:03 - 4th) Haskins, Dwayne pass incomplete, PENALTY PENNST pass interference (Castro-Fields, Tariq) 15 yards to the PENNST47, NO PLAY, 1ST DOWN OHIOST.
  • 1st & 10 at PSU 47
(6:42 - 4th) Binjimen Victor 47 Yd pass from Dwayne Haskins (Sean Nuernberger Kick)
--------------
  • 1st & 10 at OSU 4
(4:34 - 4th) Dwayne Haskins pass complete to J.K. Dobbins for 35 yds to the OhSt 39 for a 1ST down
  • 1st & 10 at OSU 39
    (4:08 - 4th) J.K. Dobbins run for 7 yds to the OhSt 46
  • 2nd & 3 at OSU 46
(3:39 - 4th) Dwayne Haskins pass incomplete to Luke Farrell
  • 3rd & 3 at OSU 46
    (3:33 - 4th) Mike Weber run for 11 yds to the PnSt 43 for a 1ST down
  • 1st & 10 at PSU 43
(3:08 - 4th) Dwayne Haskins pass complete to Parris Campbell for 14 yds to the PnSt 29 for a 1ST down
  • 1st & 10 at PSU 29
(2:47 - 4th) Dwayne Haskins pass incomplete to Parris Campbell
  • 2nd & 10 at PSU 29
    (2:41 - 4th) J.K. Dobbins run for 5 yds to the PnSt 24
  • 3rd & 5 at PSU 24
(2:03 - 4th) K.J. Hill 24 Yd pass from Dwayne Haskins (Two-Point Pass Conversion Failed)

It's how they've been for a while.

Even if your starters can hold their own, eventually they tire and the 5 stars they roll off the bench are better than your backups.

It takes an NFL calibre QB to make up the difference.

They can also stop the run.
Osu can’t as they are one of the worst run defending teams in the country(Oregon state had 230 rushing yards vs them) and trace mcsorley qb from penn state just had 160 rushing yards plus agaisnt them.

Well I do agree any team having a chance to beat Bama has to have a great QB or a QB who plays off the charts for one game. OK has almost no chance of beating BAMA same old thing every year, Bama controls games with their huge lines. I just don't see anyone beating them, LSU might keep it within 3 tds. They will be nice and rested because their starters only play a half at most.

It wouldn't have come to that if Dabo didn't take the starting QB out and give the job to a Freshmen QB. That kid waited his turn and was winning games, stupid move! I feel Miami has a better chance against the freshmen than the other kid, at least this year. Dabo is a prick! I hope this bites him in the *** with recruits too.
