Big 12 fines Texas Tech AD for officiating talk

Texas Tech athletic director Kirby Hocutt has been fined by the Big 12 for discussing officiating.

“The Big 12 said Hocutt violated league policy by speaking out publicly about officiating.”
Hocutt wrote that he did not violate the league's policy on commenting about officiating but "rather provided a factual clarification to bring closure to this issue."

Now why in the world is even talking about refs a policy violation with a fine? **** is all rigged.

What's the controversy? The officials missed a split second judgement call that can't be reviewed, and ADs aren't allowed to comment publicly on officiating.

It's a shame how referees are made out to be some unquestioned force of nature on the football field. These are men and they need to be held accountable for their actions. The referees should have post game press conferences as well where they can be put on the spot.

That's lame. Officials ARE held accountable. Have you ever had a profession? Discipline isn't done publicly.
