Big 10 used a flawed report to make decision

Every credible journalist who is embedded within the NCAA and P5 conferences all say the same thing. The Big 10 and PAC 12 decision comes down to fear of player unionization resulting in shared revenue. It‘s not a COVID issue though that’s how their spinning it.

No they didn’t, they postponed the season for non covid reasons. They thought all the other conferences would fall in line bc they are the Big 10 and they control CFB. What they failed to realize is this isn’t 1971 and the SEC controls CFB.

Now they are left with a gigantic mess and they are in damage control mode.

making some money and keeping prestige as a conference is better than making no money and showing everyone your ***. Well done Big 10, well done.

ok now you guys can go back to saying covid is made up and the poor Big 10 got bamboozled by liberals.
But the covid angle and the safety of the players was their cover story. The other reasons were just innuendo and speculation. Now it's laid open for all to see.

Credibility, once lost, is difficult to recover.

And now the FDA approved a saliva test thats gonna be about 90 dollars cheaper than current test and accurate with faster turnaround times. Makes it less cost prohibitive to test frequently if not everyday if a program chooses. Gonna be big for the G5 schools who still want to try to play

So either the Big 10 have the dumbest leadership, most deceitful leadership, or a combination of the two.
We were just told yesterday day in another thread by some intellectual wizards that the Big 10 were led by some of the most brilliant scientific minds in the history of our republic...and that if we question their decisions we are fundamentally anti-science, anti-facts, and we do not care at all about the players lives.

Gotta love it!! Same **** different day..

Maybe somebody from the media should ask if the Big 10 is mandating the schools provide health insurance for their athletes. Would either be a gold mine of hypocrisy (health being SO important) or actually get a very small but important victory for these kids.

The Abbott test that gives instant results has poor sensitivity with 15-20% false negative. This is a poor result for a screening test. It was billed as a game changer and over time it isn’t. I’ll wait to see how good the new saliva test sensitivity rate is before calling it a gamer changer. Hopefully it’s as good as advertised.

Some people on this site are shook ASF that we might actually play.
Nothing better than seeing kids that come from less fortunate backgrounds coming out and saying they are much safer being a part of their football program than being forced back into a situation of poverty where there is less protection.

I’m not so sure that’s it as much as the fact they will be idle with time to burn, soooooo more parties etc

They used it on NBA players and staff as they were about to start playing again and the results almost universally matched those of the nasal swabs used at the same time. Apparently the sensitivity rate is anywhere between 88%-94% according to the thread I read and because of the cost you can test more often and get more accurate results.

The Big Ten had at least two dozen studies regarding their decision to not play football this fall so now you find one guy with a theory and you fall hook line and sinker for it. Keep believing they turn their back on 800 million because one guy from Michigan questions a small part of their entire study. You have no idea. Funny how Power 3 are still in touch with the Big 10 daily!
