So u can see the eyes if there is a concussion. Although the technology now exists where one can remove the visor without removing the helmet during a head injury.

I'm very curious about this "technology," because since I heard about the ban, I said "OK, so just make a flip-up visor. Easy."

Regarding visors, I believe they can be tinted if it’s for a medical condition. I think the rule says “no exception”, but unlike high school football, if a physician can show why a player needs a tint, the NCAA may waive the rule.
