Who are all of these coaches who are lining up to coach at UM? Because the last two times we had an opening, we had to settle for guys who none of us wanted. You can keep living in this Polyanna world where UM is some great destination for winning multiple national titles, but coaches out there don't see it that way. Then you want to add to the charm by dropping a guy after one game? Yeah, that will have Bill Belichick getting his agent on the phone with UM.

start making inquiries now. if you don't want to/can't pay top dollar start looking at overachieving coordinators.

A&M. baylor. if you want defense look at msu.

As for the topic, which I have stuck to the whole time, there is no evidence that any recruiting classes "tank" depending on when a coach is fired. That's something that the lowest common denominator of message boards makes up as if they know something.

My only issue with firing him is we have no one on staff to take over... Say Coley or Ice and you should get ******* SHOT! So, IMO until you have a chance to truly make the necessary changes and bring in said coach you wait it out.. Maybe even the dreaded show of 'Public support' in hopes of not losing the team. Then when the season is over you bring in someone new to coach the team into the bowl game and then they would be there with plenty of time to recruit..

I would then maybe keep Coley to keep the recruiting class together, but hire a co/OC and **** can Coley after NSD... I am firmly in belief that this program needs a COMPLETELY new staff minus maybe Ice (rbs) and Baez.. Those guys are worth their weight in gold in the sofla recruiting game....

Antwan, you are truly being a moron for sticking to the whole "after one game" mantra. The point is, it isn't one game....it is now 38 games. Literally no change in game-planning and preparation in all that time. The only difference is, he brought in some better players. The thing with that is, he would have to bring in nothing but 5-star studs every year to get this thing above 9 wins, and that **** ain't gonna happen. While the U missed the opportunity to let Al go for the PSU thing, there would be absolutely no problem letting him go now, and bringing in any of the 3 or 4 guys who are currently unemployed, on an interim basis. It sends no message to the next guy, except that you had better be able to back up talk with results.
