Best Safety in NFL

Even Ed Reed said it himself. "Sean was special and you'll probably never see anything like him ever, he was born to play this game"

polamalu isnt even in my top 5...dolnt se it...nope..cant win with em..(singletary voice)

Other than the Super Bowls, DPOY, All-Pro and Pro Bowl selections, you're right, can't win with him and can't see why he would make the list of top safeties. Unless you just started watching football in 2014, in which case I welcome you to the sport.

not a fan of glorified lb's. which he essentially was.

the steelers secondary is still humming and didnt really miss a beat with him out that noticably.

He's not sorry..but all the mystique, or accolades i watched alot of steelers games because one of my friends started in that secondary...and he never impressed me that much...but your talking about me who grew up watching ed reed, sean taylor...two guys that i felt were wayyyyyy ahead of him as a safety. Guess its the hair.

Please dont list the pro bowl which doesnt matter much any more or in this era.

Great topic.

I have to list 12

1) Ed Reed
2) Brian Dawkins
3) Ronnie Lott
4) Rod Woodson
5) Rodney Harrison
6) John Lynch
7) Steve Atwater
8) Kenny Easley
9) Donnie Shell
10) Troy Polamalo
11) Ken Houston
12) Paul Krause

Current players who could maybe find their way onto this list

The Honey Badger
Eric Berry(without the injuries he could have ended up top 5 IMO)

Sean Taylor's death was tragic to say the least. He never had the chance to finish his career but he could have easily been No.1 on this list. Also, while I'm on the subject Colon Cowturd is a little Kunnt Beeoch that should have been curbstomped after what he said after Sean's death. Just a despicable piece of ****!

As a football player Sean. As a leader I'd give the edge to Edward. Have yet to see a football player do what Sean Taylor could do. Literally the prototype football player. Hurts that he never saw it all the way through and a shame that we were unable to witness it. Truly special.
